This is a list of the bird species recorded in Bolivia. The avifauna of Bolivia has 1383 confirmed species. Fifteen are endemic, two have been introduced by humans, and 20 are rare or vagrants. An additional 38 species are hypothetical . Except as an entry is cited otherwise, the list of species is that of the South American Classification Committee of the American Ornithological Society. The list's taxonomic treatment and nomenclature are also those of the SACC.The following tags have been used to highlight several categories. Bolivia Pilot Henry Vaca

A flight to Bolivia's Barba Azul Nature Reserve to see the critically endangered Paraba Barba Azul - the Blue-throated Macaw.

Only 350 of these large, beautiful birds are still flying free in the wild. Armonía, a Bolivian conservation organization, is engaged in an heroic effort to save the species.

In our four day stay at the reserve our Barba Azul daily high count was 30, we had 76 sightings in total.

A blue-and-gold macaw (Ara ararauna), also known as a blue-and-yellow macaw. They are native to Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Panama. There are attempts to reestablish them in Trinidad, which they previously inhabited. There are introduced populations in Puerto Rico and Florida.
