Incheon Gangwha Manisan Mountain Hike- Hamheo Dongcheon Course
In the Hamheodongcheon flows water upon the 100-meter-high rock bed where the letter Hamheodongcheon carved by Hamheodaesa himself. Hamheo Dongcheon means Area where you could see crystal blue sky without any cloud. Whether or not because Goryeo was invaded too often and tried to defend the country with the aid of Buddha through Buddhist rituals and services, there are numerous venerable temples in Ganghwado.
There are Jeondeungsa (Temple), Jeongsusa (Temple), Jeokseoksa (Temple), Baengnyeonsa (Temple), Cheongnyeonsa (Temple), and many more temples such as Bomunsa (Temple) in Seongmodo (Island), where Nahancheonjinseoksang (stone statue), discovered by a fisherman from the sea, is enshrined. Hwagaesa (Temple) of Yi Saek, Mogeun, and Seonwonsa (Temple) sites also still remain without damage. You can observe various treasures while visiting the mountain.

BOMUNSA TEMPLE????SEOKMODO ISLAND SUNSET|A GLIMPSE OF BUDDHISM#보문사#강화도#Bomunsa#석모도#Buddhism
We came here in Seokmodo Island to see the Temple and try the Hot spring spa but we end up just amazed with the beauty of this temple and the awesome Sunset where the sky and sea meet.
The temple is located on a cliff around 1Km going up plus we got kids but nevertheless it was an awesome adventure.
I learned to respect other religion, appreciate its way, and get to know some historical facts.
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
This temple was built by the Great Buddhist Priest, Hoejong daesa in the 4th year of Queen Seondeok (635).
The temple is located in Seokmodo islet in Ganghwa,Incheon.
Bomunsa was recognized as one of three great Buddhism sacred sites, and within 14 years of its erection a fisher man picked up statue of one buddha and 22 of Buddha's disciple at the sea by his fishing net, and then he enshrined them to the rock cave situated at right side of the temple.
From that time on, incidental miracles occurred when people prayed for toward the rock cave, which gathered many believers visiting there for worship. There situated a stone structure of Buddha image known as the Maebol etched on the surface of cliff behind the temple, where a breathtaking scenery of western sea can be seen as well.
There is a 600 year old Juniper tree and a big millstone which was used by the monks when cooking.

Boriam Hermitage was founded in 683 as Bogwangsa Temple. Later, King Taejo began the Joseon Dynasty after praying here for a hundred days. Thanks to this, the temple was deemed a main prayer space and the name changed to Boriam Hermitage.
Nestled at the top of Geumsan Mountain, Boriam Hermitage is a picturesque temple embracing the beautiful mountain surroundings and the Namhae sea. Along with Naksansa Hongryeonam Hermitage in Gangwon-do and Bomunsa Temple in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, Boriam Hermitage is one of three noted praying temples in Korea.

Biking in Seongmodo
Took an unexpected trip to The island of Seongmodo where the beautiful Bomunsa Temple lies. This island seemed like something out of a fairy tale. Rice fields as far as you could see. Beautiful and untouched beaches. Women working in the rice fields. Men doing heavy labor. This island really preserves the amazing history and landscape of olden time Korea.

???? Driving Route in the West of Jeju Island
Gueom-ri Dolyeonmjeon ~ Gwakji Gwamul Beach ~ Hyeopjae Beach ~ Suwolbong Peak ~ Sanbangsan Mountain
╰ Starting point:
╰ Ending point:
° Tourist Attraction in the West of Jeju Island
╰ Gwakji Gwamul Beach (곽지 해수욕장)
Gwakji Beach is one of the favorite beaches of Jeju residents. You won’t feel hot even under the blazing sunshine of Jeju because of Gwakji’s quiet and peaceful atmosphere and cold water.
The best thing about Gwakji Beach is its spring water. There are open-air spring water baths for men and women so after your ocean swim, you can wash yourself in spring water and continue your journey without feeling uncomfortable.
╰ Hyeopjae Beach (협재 해수욕장)
Hyeopjae Beach is located on the west side of Hanrim-eup, and is part of Hanrim Park. The beautiful white color of the sand comes from the large amounts of crushed seashells that have been mixed in with the sand. The long seashore stretches for 9 km and has cobalt colored seawater and evergreen forests scattered around the vicinity, making the scenery very beautiful. Just off the beach is Biyangdo Island. The white sandy beach is about 20 meters long, and the water is 1.2 meters deep with no sudden drops. In the evergreen groves, there are plenty of convenient facilities and campgrounds for visitors to use.
Hanrim Park nearby, provides interesting tour sites such as a subtropical arboretum, Hyeopjaegul Cave, and Ssangyonggul Cave.
╰ Suwolbong Peak (수월봉)
Suwolbong, located in Gosan-ri, Jeju Island, is a small hill-shaped elevation of 77m in height, but it plays a role of a textbook of volcanic acid research due to various volcanic sedimentary structures left behind in volcanic rocks along coastal cliffs.
Suwolbong is part of an annular volcano formed about 18,000 years ago when a hot magma bursts into the water and explodes and the crushed volcanic ash falls around it.
The volcanic ash that covered the Suwolbong area became a fertile soil that plants grew better than hard lava, and the fertile soil became the home of life for the Neolithic people to settled down.
╰ Sanbangsan Mountain (산방산)
Sanbangsan Mountain is the result of violent volcanic activity some 700,000 to 800,000 years ago and is in fact a huge body of lava. The cliffs on the southern side of the lava dome are marked with a rich variety of curious formations such as weathering pits and talus scree slopes, some of which are as high as 200m. As its name ‘sanbang’ – literally meaning ‘a cave inside a mountain’ – suggests, this mountain contains a cave, which is located about 150m above sea level and has a spectacular view out over the ocean. Due to its close location to the sea and its high elevation, the peak is often ringed with clouds. The upper slopes of the mountain have their own distinct climatic conditions and are protected for their value for botanical research.
The Sanbangsa Temple and also the Bomunsa Temple, which holds the relics of Buddha, are also located on the mountain. Walk along the stone-steps between the two temples and you will find the Sanbanggulsa Grotto.
