Aruba Bonbini festival mei 2009
Impressie van het Bonbini Festival 5 Mei 2009 Oranjestad Aruba. Bonbini betekend Welkom in Papiamento.
Oranjestad is de hoofdstad van Aruba en is opgebouwd rond 'Fort Zoutman'. Dit fort is in 1796 door Nederlanders ter verdediging gebouwd. Bij Fort Zoutman wordt wekelijks het Bon Bini Festival gehouden. Tijdens dit festival treedt de top van de Arubaanse folkloristische artiesten op en worden lokale gerechten en handwerken verkocht. Naast het fort staat de Willem III toren. Deze toren werd gebouwd zodat naderende piraten tijdig gesignaleerd konden worden.
Te zien o.a in deze film o.a het Arubaanse CAHI orgel ofwel de Tingilingibox met zn karakteristieke geluid en de prachtige Ribbon dance door dansgroep Masiduri.
Bon Bini means welcom in Papiamento.
Every Tuesday night the Bon Bini Festival takes place at Fort Zoutman with its Willem III tower. (center of Orajestad Aruba) This traditional festival starts at 6:45 to 9:00 PM. You can enjoy the aruban music, dance, cuisine and crafts. Admission to this event is around $3 (USD). Drinks and food are seperate.
