Video Transcript:
When you visit Melbourne, make sure you come to Queen Victoria Market.
It is a bustling place. It's like an old European market. It has everything you need.
It has spices, it has meats, it has deli, everything.
And you know what, it's the people that make it, you're gonna have a blast here.
Make sure you talk to all the shop owners, it's all family run and they're fantastic.
My fish is still alive. Hala hala hey!
Hello America.
We're at Antonio's meat shop in Victoria Market.
47 years in the market, this is his shop and now his son has taken it over.
It's like a Fred Flintstone.
Go go go.
O-pah
I just had some Ouzo and oysters, what more can you ask for?
Whoa, that has a bite!
I just love a smelly cheese, I can just smell all the great aromas of all the cheeses at this market here. Ah, I love it.
Okay, we're doing a cheese tasting here at Curds and Whey and we've got some soft cheese, we have something like a Swiss cheese, we have some brie, and then we have the blue cheese which is my favourite we're going to have at the end.
This is supposed to be Dave's but I'm thinking... No No, I'll be nice.
The Land of Soy and Honey that's where you come to get your honey here at the Victoria Market.
Dave, you might not get this honey! Give that to me.
So after all your shopping, you can come to wine and get your wine and beer for the dinner you are about to cook tonight right?
Yeah, it's the best part of the meal.
Cheers.
We're walking through the market.
Let's go taste some gelato.
A market tour is never complete without ice cream, so we're at Merceto Gelato, and I'm having a chocolate because I always have chocolate, that's what I like.
We're at Pukara Estate here in the market and they make extra virgin olive oil and aged vinegars. And this is the barrel aged vinegar. So, I'm looking forward to tasting this one.
So when you are in Melbourne, make sure you do the Queen Victoria Market tour, and ask for Trudy, she's fantastic.
I'll do my best, that's you!

Paul Amy's Book -Fabulous Fred The Strife and Times of Fred Cook
V.F.A fans drop everything now and purchase the must read: Paul Amy's book -Fabulous Fred The Strife and Times of Fred Cook .
This is a brilliant read covering not only the fascinating life of Freddie and how he impacted the V.F.A. in a sensational manner but also the other main players from Phil Gibbs at channel 0's involvement in shaping the V.F.A. to his old team mate the late E.J.Whitten, his family, friends and many more legends of the game.
I found Paul Amy's book a real page turner naturally because I'm bonkers about V.F.A. history of course, though also about all the Melbourne links Freddie has had over the years.
If I was a clever writer I would give this book a much better detailed rap, though all I can say this is a magnificent read for all footy lovers and it gives you a real insight into an era that has now unfortunately gone for good, Paul is a great writer and has really brought Freddie's story to life and for me personally even though Fred went off the rails and hasn't changed my view on him being one of my footy heroes, I couldn't help but have empathy for him and got a real sense he is a gentle giant that wouldn't intentionally hurt a fly. Unfortunately the drugs got the better of him, but his survived all that and I wish him all the best with his future endeavours.
Who wouldn't want to have a beer with Fred in full flight telling his hilarious stories or seeing him at a sportsmen's night!
You don't get many characters like Fred anymore unfortunately and if they're are? They're simply not allowed to be!!!
Well done again on the Fab Freddie book to Paul Amy, I have absolutely loved reading all about the great man.
*Also congratulations to Fred Cook on being the greatest player in V.F.A history! Only a matter of time before his added to the Australian Football Hall of Fame!
Cheers Gezza
