Adams National Historical Park
Adams National Historical Park in Quincy, Massachusetts preserves the home of Presidents of the United States John Adams and John Quincy Adams, of U.S. Ambassador to Great Britain, Charles Francis Adams, and of the writers and historians Henry Adams and Brooks Adams.
The national historical park's eleven buildings tell the story of five generations of the Adams family (from 1720 to 1927) including Presidents, First Ladies, U.S. Ministers, historians, writers, and family members who supported and contributed to their success. In addition to Peacefield, home to four generations of the Adams family, the park's main historic features include the John Adams Birthplace (October 30, 1735), the nearby John Quincy Adams Birthplace (July 11, 1767), and the Stone Library (built in 1870 to house the books of John Quincy Adams and believed to be the first presidential library), containing more than 14,000 historic volumes in 12 languages.
There is an off-site Visitors Center less than a mile away. Regularly scheduled tours of the houses are offered in season (April 19 to November 10), by guided tour only, using a tourist trolley provided by the Park Service between sites. Access to United First Parish Church, where the Adamses worshipped and are buried, is provided by the congregation for which they ask a small donation. The church is next to the street from the Visitors Center.

St Nicholas' Church, Kenilworth is a Church of England parish church in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, England. The church is built of local red sandstones. The main phases of building are Decorated Gothic, Perpendicular Gothic and a Gothic Revival Victorian restoration of 1864. It is a Grade I listed building. Author Die Booth talks about abandoned buildings - Greenbank Hall
I waffle on a bit about a currently abandoned property near to where I live and how abandoned buildings inspire me in my writing (apologies for sound quality!)

Transcript
Hiya, come with me a minute, I want to show you this. I have it on good authority from my next-door-neighbour that it used to be known as Peter Jones's, but its real name is Greenbank Hall. It was built in the 1800s, but it was purchased in 1907 by Edward Peter Jones who was an industrialist from Ellesmere Port, he worked in corrugated iron, and he re-vamped the whole place, did it up. He was really interested in the arts. When he died he left it in his will to education in the area, so in the 1960s it was a teacher trainer college and then in the '80s it was passed on to West Cheshire College, but now it's been empty since 2005.
So from what I know, the plans are to turn it into flats, which is really good because it's saving the building, but on one hand is quite a shame because I hear they're going to build on the gardens as well, and the gardens are really beautiful so take a good look at them while you can. I come down here to write sometimes. It's quite nice and peaceful.
I really love abandoned places. I think they're a big inspiration, a big influence in my writing and I think it's because they're quite secret, quite mysterious and not everyone knows that they're there. I find them sad sometimes. It's sad when they're not maintained, but at the same time it's quite nice to have this secret. Obviously people find them quite eerie sometimes but I think, in my writing, I like to see beauty in what other people might find sad or scary, like I don't think this is a scary place, I think it's a beautiful place that needs to be loved and I always thought when I was writing Spirit Houses that this is what I pictured Alex's house would look like.
So, you can read more about this on my blog.
I think I'll leave it there!

We welcome back Jam Baxter to do a live performance on a Central London rooftop of his sick track, Husk. Big up the High Focus crew as always!
High Focus Records is proud to announce the forthcoming release of Jam Baxter's brand new and hotly anticipated solo LP. '…so we ate them whole'. This finds Jam Baxter in exceptionally good stead after an incredibly surreal year, fortifying his standing as one of the rap world's most enterprising oddballs as he effortlessly saunters through a galaxy quite unlike anything anyone's ever witnessed before.
'…so we ate them whole' is expertly composed by mysterious South London music mogul Telemachus. As musical camaraderies go, you will be hard pressed to find a stronger partnership. Telemachus' wide and deep musical craft makes for ideal hunting ground for Baxter as he proceeds to pick galaxies apart and patch them back together again track-on-track (fourteen to be precise) as the tracklist unfolds, implodes and regenerates on command.
'....so we ate them whole' is available for pre order on CD, Limited Edition Vinyl & iTunes.
