Coffee Production Process Tour with Cafe Ruiz in Boquete, Panama
Explore the coffee production process with the Cafe Ruiz coffee tour in Boquete, Panama. I found the 3+ hour tour pretty fascinating during my December 2014 visit to Boquete. At the Cafe Ruiz coffee tour, you walk around one of their coffee plantations to experience the picking of the coffee fruit. Then you are shown every step of the coffee production process including removing the beans from the fruit and the drying, fermenting, and roasting processes that take place. It's a 6-month process!
I highly recommend doing the Cafe Ruiz coffee tour to learn about the whole coffee production process. If you enjoy drinking coffee and are visiting Boquete, Panama, don't miss it. You can check out my reviews of places to visit in Panama on Trip Advisor:

A Coffee Tour at Finca dos Jefes in Boquete
A coffee tour is just a part of being in Boquete anyway. We recommend the Finca Dos Jefes, which grows 7 Arabica coffee types at around 1400 meters altitude. The relatively small estate of 2.8 hectares offers a very interesting tour and much information about the cultivation of coffee and the worldwide trade.

2010 Boquete Panama Coffee Tour
Back in 2010, with the encouragement of my friend Stephen Kaczor, an organic farmer in Boquete, we flew to Panama to learn about coffee. With us flew 18 coffee loving folks who enjoyed OBR and were interested in sharing the experience first-hand. This fantastic collection of photos were taken by Peter Byron, one of our customers.

Panama Vlog Day 6: Boquete Coffe Tour
On our last day in Boquete Panama, we took a coffee plantation tour where we were shown around one of the many famous plantations around Boquete. Did you know that Boquete produces the most expensive coffee in the world? The sort is known as Geisha and is being sold for up to $2.500 per kilo! Afterwards we checked out a flower park in Boquete and also had lunch at a cute small cafe.

The Ultimate Day In Boquete, Panama
While traveling the world we got lucky and picked Boquete on our itinerary. After traveling for months in Central America Boquete was a pleasant surprise and one of our favorite places so far. This video is going to give you the ultimate one day of things to do when visiting Boquete, Panama. We started off in the morning by visiting the Lost Falls. This is a beautiful hike that we would say is moderate to strenuous. On the way up to the waterfalls, most is uphill. There are a total of three waterfalls and it costs $7 in total, per person. The landscape, views and different flowers along the way are nothing less than spectacular. It takes around 3 hours to complete.
When we got back into town we rented scooters which were $25 for 4 hours. This was one of the best decisions we could have ever made. We took the scooter all over Boquete. We visited coffee plantations, Bridges, other waterfalls and Tree Trek. This was probably in the top three things we've done since traveling the world. If you plan on taking a vacation and are looking for options, there is no doubt Boquete should be on your bucket list. The weather is absolutely perfect, lots of expats and the sense of community is awesome

Finca Lerida, Boquete Panama
On our next coffee tour we met John Collins, the owner of Finca Lerida. This coffee plantation was the most progressive, and John is truly a visionary. John anticipates that the indigenous people will soon move away from coffee farming.
John's plantation was the most beautiful and well manicured of all the farms we visited. Recently returning from Brazil, he had the latest news on what may very well be coffee farmings future.
