French Polynesia - Blue Planet Odyssey in Tahiti
Glimpses of the island of Tahiti during the passage of the Blue Planet Odyssey rally in April 2015. See some of the BPO crew participate in different activities: Jimmy’s meeting, HIT eye program, Fenua Ma recycling, new marina welcome cocktail, a tour at the Fataua river, guided tour all around the island …
Contains some views of Papeete town, market and handycrafts and resort dancing performance and more.
Many thanks to many people who made the BPO visit more enjoyable and helped us, to name just a few: the management & staff of the brand new Marina de Papeete (Christiane, Raymond, Ken and his two new assistants) for getting our fleet accommodated and getting most of the services running, all with patience & understanding! ; Stephanie Betz from Archipelagoes for organizing as much as she did!; all the major marine chandleries: Nautisport, Ocean2000, Sin Tung Hing Marine, Tahiti yacht Accessoires & Techni Marine for offering us competitive prices and assistance with the fleet break downs; Laurent of Polynesia Yacht Services for his quick & efficient service as yacht agent; Stephane & team at Eco-car for offering us special conditions and giving an excellent service – you are voted #1 car rental (and now also scooters) company on Tahiti – with a service attitude like yours you will surpass any competition! ; Patrick Monpass for helping us getting a good service to get the bonds refunded in Bora Bora; Benoit Layrle, the director of Fenua Ma, a gentleman full of energy and positive ideas but still realistic! ; the energetic, artistic & original couple running Fenua Marionnettes for doing a lot within the educative system to raise generations of “green people” who respect their environment; …
Finally, this film is dedicated to Charles & Catherine Otomimi + the whole family, our longtime friends who helped us in many ways during our stay in French Polynesia for BPO! What a pleasure to spend some time together again!
Filmed in May 2015.
Hidden Island Paradise in French Polynesia
What's the most beautiful Island in French Polynesia?
Most people go to Bora Bora or Tahiti, or even Rangiroa, but I found something even better.
This atoll is known for shark diving, Manta rays, and one long stretch of island that is so thin, you can see from the Pacific to the lagoon just by turning your head. Under 900 people live there, and it's perfect, with one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen!
Watch to see if you can catch the name!
Many Thanks to Matthew Reichel of Inertia Network for the drone shots:

Ep029 Rough Seas Sailing to the Bahamas
We leave the BVI's for an 840 nm, six day passage to the Bahamas. As usual the forecast is a bit off and we encounter some rough conditions beating into the wind and swell, lasting for longer than we'd hoped, but eventually calming down when we get some nice downwind sailing with the twin headsails.

Thanks so much for joining us on this adventure. Moorea is just a dozen miles from Tahiti but it seems a world apart. We are totally loving being anchored here. We're meeting tons of great sailors, sharing sundowners on other sailboats (or on the beach) and snorkeling our butts off. What's not to love?!?
And yes, you heard it right: MOM is coming! We'll sail back to Tahiti to pick her up then turn s/v CURIOSITY back around and anchor in Moorea. It's gonna be a blast.

Details
Bora Bora One is a luxury beachfront villa rental with 5 bedrooms and private pool. Bora Bora One is the most luxurious villa in Bora Bora. Set over 30 000 m² (7.5 acres) on an idyllic islet, the estate overlooks the turquoise blue waters of Bora Bora. It faces the enchanting incomparable lagoon and the mythic main island mountains on one side, whereas it overlooks the Pacific Ocean with the neighboring islands of Tahaa and Raiatea on the other side.
Five independent suites, each one different in character, intimate setting, peace and quiet, all with terraces facing the lagoon and the private beach. There is a wonderful marbled swimming pool surrounded by a wooden deck, set in a tropical garden, perfect for a relaxing massage, reading a book or listening to music in the shade of a coconut tree.
The most high-end technology in music and television, the best broadband connection on the island with a self-sufficient power provided by the most advanced and ecological solar panels. A new build private island in front of the property will make you think you can run away from the group and have all the time just for you! You can.
After a walk through the tropical garden towards the ocean side of the property you will come to a spot that was created to watch the whales passing by at the endless horizon. Mobility around Bora Bora will be provided by the boat Disco Volante, and its captain. From airport transfers to snorkeling, feeding the turtles to local restaurants or a sunset cruise, our captain will take guests to and from the villa.
From the moment the guests arrive at Bora Bora One, the villa manager and his team will arrange numerous activities and experiences whose harmony, romanticism, peace and adventure will make you understand the essence of Bora Bora as something memorable.
Location
Bora Bora One is located in French Polynesia. Undoubtedly the most celebrated island in the South Pacific, Bora Bora is French Polynesia's leading lady. Her beauty is unrivaled and her fame, unwavering. Bora Bora is one of the few places on earth that everyone hopes to witness in their lifetime—and once you see it, you are forever enamored.
Visiting Bora Bora is taking a step towards pure paradise. The luxury that exists here is like none other, and is truly worth a visit. The island is part of the beautiful Society Islands in French Polynesia. With a unique landscape, interesting heritage and wonderful experiences, there aren’t too many reasons not to visit. Though location and expense could be on the con list, in this complete Bora Bora travel guide, discover how to visit easily and make this dream destination not as expensive as you’d think.
Arriving in Bora Bora expect all your worries to float away. Turquoise waters, sherbet coloured sunsets, ridiculous luxury and gorgeous landscapes from every angle are almost guaranteed. Arriving in Bora Bora you’ll be whisked off the airport island to either the main land, or to another motu to your resort. The motu’s (small islets) and reef protect the main island, creating a picture perfect lagoon. Away from locals, most tourists stay on resorts on the motu’s, but whether you stay at a resort or a small “pension”, the views of the water don’t spoil. Though there is an unfortunate distribution of wealth from the resorts. Despite this, the locals are friendly and there are some hidden gems to be found.
