ABOUT US :
We’re Trina & Pierre. American girl meets French guy in Nigeria. Flash forward 6 years later, and we’ve call Lagos, Istanbul, Paris, and New York City our home. We were meant to settle down in the States but somewhere along the line we got caught up in this wonderful idea that we could live anywhere in the world. That we could do what we love, find passion, and secure our futures all at the same time. I can’t tell you if this dream will become a reality, but we are sure as hell going to try. To all you dreamers out there, we’re ready to dream with you and make some great things happen along the way.

Sailing Maupiti Island - Bora Bora's little sister in French Polynesia (Part 2)
If you want to watch the other videos from our sailing trip to French Polynesia, click on the links below:
Bora Bora:
Taha'a and Raiatea:
This video is the second part of our sailing trip to the French Polynesia Islands. After sailing to Bora Bora, we then sailed our catamaran to Maupiti Island. Maupiti is Bora Bora's little sister and is a lot less developped than Bora Bora. No hotel, no overwater bungalow, but the true untouched Polynesian culture and super friendly islanders.
Maupiti is the Western most Leeward Island that you can easily sail to from Raiatea or Bora Bora. Like Bora Bora, it is also a volcanic island and surrounded by a barrier reef with a beautiful lagoon with turquoise blue water. It is a great spot to observe Manta Rays, although this is not a year-round activity. There is also great snorkeling with corral, sting rays, leopard rays, and all kinds of tropical fish. We rented bikes to travel all around Maupiti, from Vai'ea all the way to Terei'a Beach. We also hiked on top of Mt Teurafaatiu and had an amazing view of Maupiti, the lagoon, the barrier reef, and all the motus surrounding the main island.
The sail to Maupiti can be difficult because there is only one pass to enter the lagoon and, depending on the wind direction or the size of the swell, you might sail all the way to Maupiti, only to find out that you cannot safely go through the pass. But we were lucky to have beautiful weather while in Maupiti and the catamaran sail from Bora Bora and back was easy.

Maupiti Magic - French Polynesia's best kept secret! Vlog 80
We had never heard of the little known paradise that is Maupiti in French Polynesia. Visiting here is like traveling back in time, there's no big resorts, bars or tourists, just pristine water and coral, friendly locals and stunning beaches. Not many yachts visit here because the pass faces the prevailing swell and is just a tiny gap between reefs with massive constant waves - getting through here even in the ideal conditions we had was perhaps one of the scariest things we have faced on Nikau! Once inside the reef though you are truly in an untouched paradise, we got to enjoy one of our absolute favourite activities - sunset beach BBQ! We also found the local coral gardens and saw some of the most pristine coral we have seen to date! In this episode we also take you on an exploration of the town and beaches via land and drone - enjoy!
We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau.
We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day!
We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand.
We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
Thanks and enjoy.
Honeymoon on Moorea.
FINALLY!
Our top things to do in Tahiti, Bora Bora, and Moorea (French Polynesia islands)
Our trip to French Polynesia was like Paradise. We got to see amazing islands, including the island of Tahiti, the island of Moorea, and of course the island of Bora Bora. We swam in amazing turquoise blue water. We were able to swim with the sharks and swim with the sting rays in the lagoon of Bora Bora and saw manta rays, moray eels, and sea turtles.
The highlight of our vacation to Bora Bora was our stay at an overwater bungalow at the Intercontinental Bora Bora. It was the overwater bungalow like you see on brochures. There are lots of Bora Bora hotels, some with overwater bungalows, some on the mainland, but the overwater bungalows is one of the iconic things to do in Bora Bora.

With so many options, you can do as much or as little as you like. The Islands of Tahiti, officially known as French Polynesia, possesses one of the most spectacularly beautiful and diverse environments on earth. A mixture of high volcanic islands and low-lying atolls, these specks of land – 118 islands in all – are strewn across four million square km of the South Pacific. Clustered into five archipelagos: the Society Islands, the Tuamotu Islands, the Gambier Islands, the Marquesas Islands and the Austral Islands, The Islands of Tahiti have in common a delightful blend of Polynesian and French cultures, and a consistently tropical climate.
French Polynesia’s world of oceanic islands offers vacationers an almost limitless range of vacation activities, both passive and active.
There are many sides to The Islands of Tahiti. Yet they are all connected by Mana. Mana is a life force and spirit that surrounds us. You can see it. Touch it. Taste it. Feel it. And from the moment you arrive, you will understand why we say our islands are Embraced by Mana.
Here, you’ll find it all. From paragliding to beach combing to embracing the laid-back island lifestyle, The Islands of Tahiti are packed with a mix of tropical adventure and blissful relaxation. This is motu Pitiahe. it is so small that dosen`t even have roads. In this video you will not see a lot of action or entertainment. I want to show Maupiti main island as it it, very relaxing and perfect for vacation.

in my channel you can see more videos related to lifestyle and eco living from this little paradise.
Today I’m gong to do something different, I’m going to the main island.
first thing you see in peoples houses is this type of kayak the name for it is Pirogue. Which is great for physical exercise
Now you can watch the traffic in the rush hour and I tell you more about this island.
Maupiti is located in the western Leeward Islands in French Polynesia in Pacific Ocean, The main island of Maupiti has a high peak of 380 metres (1,250 feet) and a
people living on 11 square kilometres (4.2 square miles)
The primary economic activity on Maupiti is noni production.
Maupiti has got little airport which is handling around 10.000 tourists per year. The regional operator is airtahiti.com
the island is small so in few minutes I’ve reached end of the road. The views are stunning and on the three I see granted permission to build here. Some lucky person will have a house here one day. What a place. What a colour. Amazing
time to move, my next stop is going to be a beach. I’m a beach lover and im curious how what kind of beach this island have to offer. the name of the beach is TEREI`a and it is 10/10 beach for me with white sand. clear water and only few people on it. 2 tourists and 2 local girls.
I was living in Dominican Republic before and let me take you there just for few seconds. local beach Boca Chica in Santo Domingo.
I think you got the point so let`s go back to the Maupiti paradise.
I’m desperate to use internet so I see some houses and man which is going fishing. I’m going to try over there.
If you enjoyed my video please share it, give it a like and subscribe because in my next video im going to Tahiti where I’m going to show you some beautiful places and will show you how easy is to buy big fish on the street.
