Fáilte Ireland - Growing Dublin in 2014
Dublin is the primary driver of Ireland's tourism industry and over the last year we have been working closely with Dublin businesses to grow the city and capital's international visitor numbers.
This year, Dublin has a new dedicated Fáilte Ireland team that will focus on attracting more overseas growth from Britain, France, Germany and the US by positioning Dublin (city and surrounding areas) to target two market segments which research shows offer the greatest potential for growth.
• 'Social Energisers' -- young couples and adult groups looking for excitement, new experiences, and fun, social getaways to novel destinations;
• 'Culturally Curious' --independent active sightseers looking to explore new places and broaden their minds;
To do this we will work with the Dublin trade and a variety of other stakeholders on a collaborative approach to deliver the Dublin Now Project. --The Dublin Now Project will focus on how we can reposition Dublin to appeal to these two segments and will ensure that Dublin features strongly in our international sales strategy and that we develop the right content to paint the picture of the Dublin that these visitors are looking.
A new state of the art Discover Ireland Centre will also open of Suffolk Street later this year that will house new interactive tourism technology making sure the visitor gets a full experience of the Dublin they wish to see.

Become a Fáilte Ireland Local Expert
The Local Experts Programme is part of an initiative by Fáilte Ireland to develop a network of local people who share knowledge and interact positively with visitors to their local area. The programme aims to develop a tourism business network, social media initiatives and to make every visitor engagement a truly positive one in order to ultimately grow tourism businesses and the local economy.
The network is supported by continual updates from the Local Experts team in Fáilte Ireland. This means that the Local Experts are kept informed of what exactly is happening in their area, and how this can benefit their own business efforts. Local Experts are also provided with Visitor Attractions Pass which allows them and a guest to visit local attractions in their area for free.

Here's the newest ad from Fáilte Ireland - The Fun Starts Here promoting holidaying at home within the Irish market.
The song Remember When by Heathers will be the featured track on the new Fáilte Ireland advertising campaign which will receive widespread coverage on
TV, cinema and radio.
The Heathers are 20 year old twin sisters Ellie and Louise Macnamara from Blackrock, Co Dublin. They began writing music together in 2007 and in February 2008 they recorded their debut album 'Here, Not There' while also preparing for their Leaving Certificate. They released the album in May of that year garnering serious praise amongst both fans and media alike.
They are currently writing material for a new album which they hope to record in 2010.
