Exploring Carlisle Castle + Road Trip From Carlisle to Glasgow
After brunch at the wonderful Foxes Café in Carlisle, it's onto Carlisle Castle which is the number one tourist attraction here in Carlisle. You can pay to get into just the castle or an additional fee on top of the castle admission to visit the Military Museum too. If you're an English Heritage member it's free.
We enjoyed pretending we were in Game of Thrones wandering around The Keep before heading around the top of the castle to take in the view of the rest of Carlisle. After that, it was time to take a drive just short of two hours over the border into Glasgow, Scotland.
We planned to have dinner at the Drygate Brewery but sadly, there seemed to be another event on so there was no parking. In hignsight it was probably a good thing, we were really hungry and if it was busy we'd have probably had to wait a long time for food so instead we did the budget and basic thing of going to Morrisons for the most random of dinners before heading back to the hotel ready for a full day of exploring tomorrow!

Scenic Flight Over Hadrians Wall Route + The Vallum, Carlisle, Cumbria
Another scenic flight, if you look carefully at 03:05 you can still see where the The Vallum is. Hadrians Wall's remains lie under the top of the river bank. The River Eden is brown again after more heavy rain.

A Photography Tour of My Hometown - Carlisle
Today I take you on a photographic tour of my hometown Carlisle, showing you some of the main sights and attractions that are worth photographing.
Or I attempt to anyway, but as usual I am hindered by the typical Cumbrian weather. Nevertheless I will photograph Carlisle Castle, Carlisle Cathedral, the Citadel and a small waterfall.
I also challenge myself to try and take a nice photo of a pretty uninteresting scene....
