Last year I also saw the solar winds in Yellowknife NWT and although I got the best northern lights there, I prefer Yukon for it's beautiful landscape. Manitoba also offers some Aurora borealis in the north of the province but it's very expensive to get there. This is why Whitehorse is the cheapest and my top pick for Aurora.

THE YUKON, CANADA - PART 2
From hiking to beautiful viewpoints to walking around the world's smallest desert to catching the train to Alaska, there is so much to see and do in the Yukon.
While I was in the Yukon as a part of the Canadian tourist boards City Bloggers Programme, I really wanted to immerse myself in what makes this such a unique part of the country.
What I experienced was a place like no other in North America, one that so laid back with a raw natural beauty that's so rare to find these days. For me, I loved going on little hikes and ending up at an incredible viewpoint with lakes and mountains all around.
Also, I really enjoyed walking around the little village of Carcross, one of the few First Native tribes you can still find in Canada. And just on the edge of town is Carcross Desert, the world's smallest desert!
To finish things off, I also caught the train from Fraser in the Yukon to Skagway in Alaska , one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world taking you through the snowy mountains.
If you haven't seen it already, this is what I got up to in part 1 of my trip to the Yukon -

Boréale Mountain Biking - Ride the Yukon
Team Boréale consists of a great community of local riders who are as passionate about their Yukon lifestyles as they are about riding through their backyard singletrack. We all love living in the Yukon, and feel the best way to experience the place is on a bike, roaming through the singletrack that flows through our boreal forests, mountain tops and river valleys.
At Boréale, we strongly value great experiences, delicious food and sharing lots of laughs while out riding a bike.

Best Place in the World to See the Northern Lights
The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis are a strange natural phenomenon that can only be witnessed in the most northern regions of the globe. We had the once in a lifetime opportunity to go to Yellowknife Canada and watch the best aurora of the entire year so far. It was truly a magical moments that no words will ever be able to describe. This is a moment I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Yukon's Disappearing Lodges
For the last six years, writer Lily Gontard and photographer Mark Kelly have been collecting stories and images along the historic 2,700-kilometre stretch of road connecting Alaska to Canada for their book, Beyond Mile Zero: The Vanishing Alaska Highway Lodge Community. The book celebrates the stories of area lodges—some abandoned, others still operational—and the people who lived and worked along the highway, nicknamed “the longest main street in North America.” As they got to know the locals, the untold story of a Yukon community emerged. “We began to uncover a hidden history,” Gontard says. In total, the pair have conducted some 40 interviews and have taken more than 5,000 photos.
