Follow me to a Chuseok Festival in Switzerland.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, a multicultural festival was organized by the botanical garden in Neuchâtel . The major theme of the festival was the celebration of Chuseok (추석): a korean festival to celebrate the good harvest.
The day was filled with surprises including a game of Jegichagi (제기차기), traditional korean music called Samulnori (사물놀이) and a concert from the pianist Hyun Jung Lim.

Ancient Egypt in the History Museum of Bern!
The Historical Museum of Bern is the second largest historical museum in Switzerland. It was built in 1894 by the Neuchâtel architect André Lambert. As it was first conceived as the Swiss National Museum (the city of Zurich was chosen to host it later) the architect took as model various historic castles from the fifteenth and sixteenth century.
The museum contains collections related to the history of Berne from prehistory to the present and other permanent exhibitions from Asia and Egypt. It is a heritage site of national significance. Wikipedia

Hosted in an incredible wooden spherical venue, the multimedia display was organized on two levels.
On the first level, the visitors were introduced to the concept of sustainable development through sound and image projections on a 7-meter in diameter half globe. On the upper level, the visitors discovered the other half of the globe in a serene environment.
Video installations, breathing messages, light and sound offered a positive vision of the future if we all take measures to implement the principles behind the concept of sustainable development.
The Palais de l'Equilibre was the most visited pavilion of the Neuchâtel Arteplage.

This small flagellate we have found in semi salt water, is Cercomonas.
It has a very active flagellum facing forward and the other longer back.
It extends fine 'threads' of your body (filopodios) crawling and looking for their food.

Der Jura ist der jüngste Kanton in der Geschichte der Schweizerischen Eidgenossenschaft. Erst 1979 spaltete er sich vom Kanton Bern ab. Im nördlichen Teil des Grenzkantons liegt die Ajoie. Der «Obstgarten» des Juras, wie diese fruchtbare Fläche auch genannt wird, ist zu einem grossen Teil von französischem Staatsgebiet umgeben.
Den Hauptort dieser Region bildet Porrentruy (dt. Pruntrut; 424 m ü. M.), die zweitgrösste Ortschaft des gesamten Kantons. Etwas erhöht thront das Château de Porrentruy. Der Tour Réfous, der imposante runde Bergfried, wurde im 13. Jh. gebaut. Zu den ältesten botanischen Gärten der Schweiz gehört der Jardin botanique de Porrentruy. Errichtet wurde dieser 1798 auf Geheiss Napoleons, dem damaligen Oberhaupt der Helvetischen Republik.
The canton of Jura is the youngest canton in the history of the Swiss Confederation. It only separated from the canton of Bern in 1979. The Ajoie region lies in the northern part of the border canton. The major part of the «orchard» of the Jura, as this fertile region is also called, is surrounded by French territory.
Porrentruy (German: Pruntrut; 424 m above sea level), the second largest municipality of the whole canton, is the capital of this region. The Château de Porrentruy sits slightly enthroned. The Tour Réfous, the impressive round donjon, was built in the 13th century. The Jardin botanique de Porrentruy is among the oldest botanic gardens in Switzerland. It was built at the behest of Napoleon, who was then the head of the Helvetic Republic.

University of Basel
Founded in 1460, it is Switzerland's oldest university. Erasmus, Paracelsus, Daniel Bernoulli, Jacob Burckhardt, Leonhard Euler, Friedrich Nietzsche, Eugen Huber, Carl Jung, Karl Barth, and Hans Urs von Balthasar are among those associated with the university, which is nowadays noted for research into tropical medicine. The University of Basel was founded in connection with the Council of Basel. The deed of foundation given in the form of a Papal bull by Pope Pius II on November 12, 1459, and the official opening ceremony was held on April 4, 1460. Originally the University of Basel was decreed to have four faculties, namely those of arts, medicine, theology and jurisprudence. The faculty of arts served until 1818 as foundation for the other three academic subjects. Over the course of centuries as many scholars came to the city, Basel became an early center of book printing and humanism. Around the same time as the university itself, the University Library of Basel was founded. Today it has over three million books and writings and is the largest library in Switzerland. This University is also renowned for its former research into Earth Sciences, Slavistics and Astronomy.
