Ikebana and Contemporary Plant Art 華道 - Uppsala University Botanical Garden
This summer, the magnificent 18th century Orangery in the botanical garden will house fantastic plant art. Seven invited Japanese artists will create their installations on site in June.
The exhibition is unique in showing traditional Ikebana from the prestigious schools Ikenobo and Ohara alongside Japanese contemporary art inspired by the great diversity of the plant world. Plants from the Swedish forest and Linnaean Gardens of Uppsala are combined with cut flowers, shrubs, rocks, roots and branches. A magic synthesis of Japanese aesthetics and Swedish conditions!
The exhibiting artists are: Naoaki Donuma, Junichi Kakizaki, Katsuhito Kurata, Hiroki Ohara, Shizuko Ono, Ohya Rica and Hanayuishi Takaya.

Under sommaren fylls Thunbergs magnifika Orangeri i Botaniska trädgården av traditionell Ikebana och samtidskonst i en unik utställning. Verken skapas på plats i juni av sju inbjudna japanska konstnärer.
Utställningen är unik i sitt slag och visar traditionell Ikebana - från de högt aktade skolorna Ikenobo och Ohara - tillsammans med samtida japansk konst inspirerad av växtvärldens mångfald.
Växter från den svenska naturen och Uppsala linneanska trädgårdar kombineras med snittblommor, planterade växter, stenar, rötter och grenar. Japansk estetik med svenska förutsättningar!
Ikebanakonstnärerna:
Katsuhito Kurata från den anrika skolan Ikenobo
Femte generationens mästare Hiroki Ohara från den väletablerade skolan Ohara
Naoaki Donuma, trädgårdschef vid Saito Summer Villa i Niigata.
Samtidskonstnärerna:
Ohya Rica, installationskonst med växter som material
Shizuko Ono, skulptur i metall
Junichi Kakizaki, land art och flower art i installationer
Takaya Terada, som utarbetat en egen performativ installationskonst på levande modellers huvuden, kallad Hanayuishi.
Utställningen invigs 14/6 kl 14:00 av Japans ambassadör Seiji Morimoto och prorektor Anders Malmberg.

植物園での生け花と現代植物アート
2014 年夏、ウプサラ大学のリンネ植物園の絶妙な 18 世紀のオランジェリー（熱帯温室）は、幻想的なフラワーアートが展示されます。
７人の招聘日本人アーティストは6月、ここでインスタレーションを制作する予定です。本展覧会は、植物界の多様性に触発された日本の現代美術と共に、生け花の名門である池坊と小原流からの伝統的な生け花を展示することでユニークなものになります。スウェーデンの森とウプサラのリンネ式庭園から採取された花々と、低木、石、根や枝などの植物が組み合わされます。それは日本の美学とスウェーデンの条件との魔法合成です！
オランジェリーは、日本への先駆的な遠征から帰国したカール･ピーター·ツュンベリの主導により、カール·フォン･リンネを記念して建てられました。以来オランジェリーは冬の間、数々の大型植物を含む熱帯温室となっています。
出展アーティストは土沼直亮氏、柿崎順一氏、倉田克史氏、小原宏貴氏、大野静子氏、大矢りか氏、花結い師 TAKAYA氏の7名です。展示キュレーターはカイサ･ハグルンドとエリサベット･ヤナギサワ＝アヴェーンです。
本展覧会の会期は、6月14日から9月14日までですが、 2014年の植物園全体のプログラムは、日本からのインスピレーションで満たされています。
