The Botanical Garden Copenhagen Denmark is located right in the center of Copenhagen. The gardens cover 10 hectares and are spectacular in Autumn when many of the trees turn a fiery red.
The highlight of the Botanical Garden in Copenhagen is the massive Glasshouse complex which was built way back in 1874. Inside is a hot and humid tropical jungle and some fantastic views.
I recommend allowing 2-3 hours to enjoy the Copenhagen Botanical Gardens, and probably more if you are a keen photographer. Entry is free, and you will find a lovely cafe located near the glasshouse complex.
Rosenborg Castle and the King's Gardens are located across the road from Copenhagen Botanical Gardens, so it's a great opportunity to see 2 amazing tourist attractions in one hit.

The University of Copenhagen Botanical Garden, usually referred to simply as Copenhagen Botanical Garden, is a botanical garden located in the centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. It covers an area of 10 hectares and is particularly noted for its extensive complex of historical glasshouses dating from 1874.
The garden is part of the Natural History Museum of Denmark, which is itself part of the University of Copenhagen Faculty of Science. It serves both research, educational and recreational purposes.
Copenhagen is the capital and most populous city of Denmark. The city has a population of 775,033 (as of January 2018), of whom 613,288 live in the Municipality of Copenhagen and the Copenhagen urban area has a population of 1,308,893 (as of January 2018). Copenhagen is situated on the eastern coast of the island of Zealand; another small portion of the city is located on Amager, and is separated from Malmö, Sweden, by the strait of Øresund. The Øresund Bridge connects the two cities by rail and road.
Originally a Viking fishing village founded in the 10th century, Copenhagen became the capital of Denmark in the early 15th century. Beginning in the 17th century it consolidated its position as a regional centre of power with its institutions, defences and armed forces. After suffering from the effects of plague and fire in the 18th century, the city underwent a period of redevelopment. This included construction of the prestigious district of Frederiksstaden and founding of such cultural institutions as the Royal Theatre and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. After further disasters in the early 19th century when Horatio Nelson attacked the Dano-Norwegian fleet and bombarded the city, rebuilding during the Danish Golden Age brought a Neoclassical look to Copenhagen's architecture. Later, following the Second World War, the Finger Plan fostered the development of housing and businesses along the five urban railway routes stretching out from the city centre.
Since the turn of the 21st century, Copenhagen has seen strong urban and cultural development, facilitated by investment in its institutions and infrastructure. The city is the cultural, economic and governmental centre of Denmark; it is one of the major financial centres of Northern Europe with the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. Copenhagen's economy has seen rapid developments in the service sector, especially through initiatives in information technology, pharmaceuticals and clean technology. Since the completion of the Øresund Bridge, Copenhagen has become increasingly integrated with the Swedish province of Scania and its largest city, Malmö, forming the Øresund Region. With a number of bridges connecting the various districts, the cityscape is characterised by parks, promenades and waterfronts. Copenhagen's landmarks such as Tivoli Gardens, The Little Mermaid statue, the Amalienborg and Christiansborg palaces, Rosenborg Castle Gardens, Frederik's Church, and many museums, restaurants and nightclubs are significant tourist attractions. The largest lake of Denmark, Arresø, lies around 27 miles (43 kilometers) northwest of the City Hall Square.
Copenhagen is home to the University of Copenhagen, the Technical University of Denmark and Copenhagen Business School. The University of Copenhagen, founded in 1479, is the oldest university in Denmark. Copenhagen is home to the FC København and Brøndby football clubs. The annual Copenhagen Marathon was established in 1980. Copenhagen is one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world.
The Copenhagen Metro launched in 2002 serves central Copenhagen while the Copenhagen S-train and Lokaltog (private railway) and the Coast Line network serves and connects central Copenhagen to outlying boroughs. To relieve traffic congestion, which is partly the result of increased traffic because of the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link road and rail construction is planned because the narrow 9-9.5 mile isthmus between Roskilde Fjord and Køge Bugt (Køge Bay) forms a traffic bottleneck. The Copenhagen-Ringsted Line will relieve traffic congestion in the corridor between Roskilde and Copenhagen.
Serving roughly two million passengers a month, Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup, is the busiest airport in the Nordic countries.

Botanical Garden is located in the centre of Copenhagen. The garden covers an area of 10 hectares and is particularly noted for its extensive complex of historical glasshouses dating from 1874. The garden is open for the public.
The Botanical Garden was first established in 1600 but it was moved twice before it was ultimately given its current location in 1870.
The garden contains more than 13,000 species and is arranged in different sections including: Danish plants (600 species), perennial plants (1,100 species), annual plants (1,100 species), rock gardens with plants from mountaineous areas in Central and Southern Europe and Conifer Hill which is planted with coniferous trees. One of the newest inclusions is a rhododendron garden
29 June 2018, the Botanical Garden opens its new Butterfly House, which will be open during the summer season. Here, visitors can explore the butterflies’ fascinating life and transformation at close hand.
Old glasshouse
The garden has 27 glasshouses. The most notable is the old Palm House from 1874 that is 16 metres tall and has narrow, cast-iron spiral stairs leading to a passageway at the top.
The garden also has a special air-conditioned greenhouse that can re-create environments suitable for Arctic plants.
The Botanical Garden also has a café, where you can order refreshments.

CACTUS????PLANT
plant Cactus (KAK-tus) (Cacti) will steal your heart with their charming, prickly forms and showy flowers. They require some caution when handling, but these super low maintenance plants can thrive indoors with bright sun, little water, and proper drainage. As the stunning products of harsh, arid climates, cacti are both the pinnacle of succulent perfection for enthusiasts and easy-to-grow starter plants for beginners.
APPEARANCE
* Form: Cacti can display a wide variety of sculptural forms, including flat paddles, round barrels, and branching columns. They maximize water efficiency by forgoing leaves in favor of water-storing stems. All cacti have areoles, or small bumps from which sprout flowers, branches, or spines.
* Spines: Varieties differ in the size and quantity of their spines (some are even spineless). Species of Opuntia have barbed glochid tufts that can easily pierce leather gloves and lodge painfully in skin. Use caution and tongs when handling.
* Flowers: Most cacti don't bloom frequently, but when they do it is with large, showy blooms that contrast stunningly with their normally spiny look. The flowers can be short-lived, but their evanescence makes them even more of a treat.
CARE
* Light: Cactus should get 6+ hours of full sun each day, but they grow happily indoors on a sunny window sill.
* Soil: Ideally, use a gritty, well-draining soil of 50%-80% mineral grit (coarse sand, pumice, or perlite). Most garden centers sell bags of cactus soil, but garden soil can also be amended with extra grit.
* Water: Deeply drench then wait for the soil to dry thoroughly before watering again. Frequency will depend on environmental conditions, so it is key to regularly observe your plants and the soil to gauge moisture content. To start, aim to water 1-2 times per month in the spring and summer, less in the fall and winter, and not at all if the temperature drops below freezing.
* Hardiness: Most of our cacti are not frost hardy, except the Opuntia, which can tolerate temperatures down to at least 10F.

Cactaceae is the largest botanical family of succulents, with over 1,700 species, all native to the Americas. They have ancient origins in evolutionary history and are adapted to diverse, arid climates including deserts, alpine regions, grasslands, and tropical forests. In some ways, they are the ultimate succulent, tolerating the harshest climates with extensive droughts, torrential rainstorms, hot, sunny days, and frigid nights. We love that they are both a practical, architectural choice for waterwise landscaping and a charming window sill plant that will occasionally reward with a giant, showy flower.

My wife, my father-in-law, my mother-in-law and myself took a long weekend to Copenhagen.
We went to the botanical gardens, spotted a few nice birds as well as a very frisky red squirrel. The gardens are very nice and feature a greenhouse on the grounds as well as an academic seed bank. The gardens are owned by the University of Copenhagen.
