The Bow Bells: Bell Ringing at St Mary-le-Bow, London
The 4th tower on the day of the RWNYC 2018 and a *HUGE* tick off my bucket list: the world famous Bow Bells...!
Where to start about these bells! St Mary-le-Bow are a 41-3-23cwt (2131kg) ring of twelve gorgeous bells cast in 1956 by Mears and Stainbank. Punchy, crisp and very audible in the ringing chamber, these bells are amazing. They go well but are a tad unpredictable due to tower movement.
1:03 for the tenor being rung from outside.
1:18 for me turning the tenor over inside. Note how the room goes silent as that bell is rung!
1:36 for all twelve!

Watch the moment Gloucestershire's Will Tavare scored an unbeaten century on his LV= County Championship debut in the Division Two clash with Hampshire at Bristol.
He reached 135 not out at the end of day 1.
The nephew of former England batsman Chris Tavare marked his appearance in style and after some early scares, when he might have been snared in the slips, he reached three figures with a six off Liam Dawson.
Yorkshire v Gloucestershire - Royal London One-Day Cup, Semi Final, 06/09/15
An unbeaten 137 for captain, Michael Klinger, and a fine knock of 78 not out from Hamish Marshall brought Gloucestershire a clinical eight-wicket semi-final win over Yorkshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup at Headingley.
The Australian and Marshall shared an unbroken record third wicket stand of 170 in 28 overs to see Gloucestershire through to their first Lord’s final in 11 years and they denied Yorkshire the chance of winning two major trophies in the same season for the first time in their history.

Erin Sextuples at Painswick, Glos
Madness!!
Painswick go very well, but they are really inaudible, particularly extra treble and the middle bells!! When ringng the front 5 (front 4 & extra treble) down, they sounded AWFUL, note the 3 Whitechapel trebles!! The back 8 do sound GOOD though, see my other vid of them!!
Ringing Erin Sextuples (Erin 13) with the extra treble to make the 13, it might sound like its going wrong, but thats the bells being inaudible!! They got through it as well!!!
Tenor 25-2-19 in D.

Wyck Rissington, Westcote, Idbury & Eastleach Martin Bells
Ringing at a few 3s and 4s over two separate days (Eastleach Martin 8/8/14, others 24/5/14) in Gloucestershire (except Idbury which are in Oxfordshire.)
Wyck Rissington: A very nice 4, rehung by Whites of Appleton in 2014 when they were also tuned at Whitechapel.
Westcote: A rarely-rung 3 tuned as the front 3 of a 5, which went reasonably well, but didn't sound particularly good; although not brought out on the video, the 2 was one of the worst sounding bells I have ever heard, hence Aaron's amusement!!
Idbury: Just over the Oxfordshire border from Westcote, another rarely-rung ground-floor 3 with some idiosyncratic tuning; the front 2 went well but the tenor went like the side of a house!! John also grabs the piano...
Eastleach Martin: Filmed on a separate day to the others, these were a reasonable 3 in a beautiful secluded location. The church is in the Churches Conservation Trust, and is but a few metres from the church at Eastleach Turville (with a chime of 2.) The 3 bells are tuned as 1, 3, 5 of a 6 and the ropes fall anti clockwise. They go reasonably and sound nice, although they are very quiet inside.
