The Fast Way Across Montana: US 191, 87 Malta to Billings
The drive south across the middle of Montana can take an entire day. Why not do it in 10 minutes, instead?
This video takes you from Malta Montana, to Zortman, Grass Range, Roundup, and Billings, as fast as possible. If you'd rather see the slower version, check it out here:
MyDrivelapse.com and Takemytrip.com provide driving videos and stories to help you plan your trip. Check out hundreds of videos on my YouTube channel. Subscribe if you like it! Dozens of new videos are on the way in the coming weeks.
I made this trip in July 2017. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

Tongue River Home (2015)
In Eastern Montana, a family ranch sits on the banks of the Tongue River. This quiet and beautiful corner of our state has been both home and livelihood to Nancy’s family for decades, but she, her neighbors, and the river they love all face pressure from the energy industry.

Backroads of Montana: Cakes & Cowboys (2009)
Episode #31 of BACKROADS OF MONTANA. This BACKROADS OF MONTANA episode travels first to Park City, where everyone will tell you that the best angel food for miles around comes from The Cake Ladies. In Great Falls, we'll visit a special site that not only honors fallen soldiers, but pays tribute to living veterans as well. We stop in the central Montana town of Winifred, the unlikely location for what may be the world's largest Tonka toy collection. And we visit a working cowboy singer on his ranch south of Wibaux. William Marcus hosts the program from Malta.

Proposed Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge
The Friends of Hackmatack is a grassroots organization of local citizens in
Wisconsin and Illinois who believe that the rolling glacial hills, ancient
oak groves, diverse wetlands and abundant wildlife of the bi-state area is
a national treasure worth preserving for future generations. Our dream is
to see a National Wildlife Refuge established that stretches not only
across state lines, but across the generations. We believe the refuge will
bring not only tourism, jobs and new economic opportunity to our region,
but also provide new educational and recreational opportunities to the
citizens of both states.
