Abandoned Bowlerama Bowling Alley - Stoney Creek Ontario

This creepy abandoned bowling alley was a location I had been watching since it closed & finally had the opportunity to explore it! You don''t see many abandoned bowling alleys in the hobby of urban exploring so even though it was in rough shape, it was still a fun explore! This bowling alley was in operation for over 50 years & a very popular local recreation spot. Many tournaments & fundraisers were held here over the years however that had all come to an abrupt end this year. While doing my research I was unable to find an absolute reason for the closing aside from a housing development plan. I draw the conclusion that the owners either tired of running the facility & sold it off, or a developer approached them with a big bag of money & that was the end of it. When I first attempted to explore this alley it had closed only a week prior to my visit & was locked up tight. During my recent I noticed right away that someone had smashed an interior door's window. As I made my way in i quickly noted the smell of fresh spray paint was heavy in the air. I was pretty disappointed to see that in such a short time the place had be torn apart likely by the very people who would frequent the facility had it not closed. I guess it's inevitable when you remove any sort of recreation facilities & replace them with more housing.
