Bowmanville FROM ABOVE
Bowmanville is the largest community in the Municipality of Clarington (formerly known as the Town of Newcastle) in Durham Region, Ontario, Canada.[1] It is located in Southern Ontario about 75 km east of Toronto and 15 km east of Oshawa along Highway 2. The Town of Bowmanville was a stand-alone incorporated municipality from 1858 to 1973.
Stephen's Gulch Conservation Area (Bowmanville, ON - September 2015)
The Stephen's Mill Trail winds its way over rolling terrain, through a dense, mixed forest at Stephen's Gulch Conservation Area. This park, north of Bowmanville, contains more than just a large wooded area. It contains a large portion of the Soper Creek watershed, as well. One can view both Soper Creek and several of its tributaries. The sights and sounds of these streams only add to the other sights and sounds of nature one can encounter there, such as the chirping of birds or the rushing sound of a chipmunk running through the woods.
This video was shot in mid-September, 2015.
Bowmanville/Westside Marshes Conservation Area: A Brief Visit (March 2018)
Where can you find various bird species, including waterfowl, and experience an excellent view of urban Bowmanville, Ontario? The Bowmanville/Westside Marshes Conservation Area certainly comes to mind. This video was shot during a brief visit in late March 2018 (Easter Weekend). Many scenes were shot in the Westside Marsh, originally owned by St. Mary's Cement, which operates the plant located just west of the marsh.
While the nature trail offers a view of both marshes within the conservation area, there is also a spot that provides an excellent view of nearby downtown Bowmanville. The scenes containing both it's urban core and the busy CNR rail line were shot there. Just a few steps away from this particular spot, I was able to shoot the scenes featuring the red-winged blackbird. It could be said that the best of both the urban and natural worlds are within sight at the Bowmanville/Westside Marshes Conservation Area.
An Early Evening Along Bowmanville Creek (Enniskillen Conservation Area - April 2017)
This video of Enniskillen Conservation Area was shot during an evening in mid-April. During this time, I was able to shoot some views of Bowmanville Creek that would have been obstructed much more during summer or fall. The improved views of the creek were due to a lack of foliage. The timing of my visit also allowed me to get some shots during sunset. While there is no substitute for a shot of an unimpeded sunset, the setting sun shining through the trees is the next best thing.
This video was shot north of Bowmanville, Ontario on Good Friday, 2017.
Late Winter Scenes along Bowmanville Creek (Bowmanville, ON - February 2016)
The unseasonably warm temperatures both before and during the time this video was shot resulted in very little ice cover. The larger streams in southern Durham Region were running freely. There was also no snow on the ground, to speak of. However, there were some pleasant surprises along Bowmanville Creek during a late February afternoon. For example, a few icicles could be found, along with some other ice formations both in and alongside the creek. It was also, at that point, one of the windiest days of the year.
This video was shot in the west end of Bowmanville, Ontario during the last week of February 2016.

31 Northglen Blvd, Bowmanville - Open House Video Tour
Situated within north Bowmanville’s award-winning Northglen community, welcome to 31 Northglen Boulevard.
A portico with arched openings, as well as a front door with sidelights and an arched transom, offer an inviting entry into the tastefully decorated main level of this immaculately maintained home.
A half wall with decor columns opens the foyer to the formal dining room - an elegant entertaining space that can be combined with a living room, and which showcases dark hardwood flooring, deep crown moldings, and a modern chandelier.
Down a side hall is where the powder room and the sunken laundry area are found. The powder room features a pedestal sink, while the laundry room is complete with cabinets and a coat closet; front load washer and dryer; as well as access to and from the garage. These rooms, as well as the foyer and hallway, are finished with ceramic flooring, which flows through to the kitchen area - while bringing additional brightness to the dining room is pot lighting, which can be found throughout much of the home.
Beautifully upgraded, the kitchen’s efficiently designed work space showcases granite counters; a centre island with pedant lighting, breakfast seating, and a stainless steel double under mount sink; espresso-coloured cabinetry with a pantry area, molded extended height uppers, and valance lighting; stainless steel appliances including a stove with dual ovens, built-in dishwasher and microwave, and a fridge with bottom mount freezer; a glass-, stone, and stainless steel mosaic-tiled back splash with co-ordinating switch plates; as well as space for a light-filled breakfast area.
The sliding door walk-out has California shutters for privacy and light-control, and opens onto a deck which steps down to a virtually maintenance-free and fully fenced south-facing backyard that showcases an extensive stone patio area for outdoor entertaining, as well as a shed for seasonal storage.
Half walls with decor columns grace the entry into the family room - which is finished with dark hardwood flooring and deep crown moldings, while a gas fireplace brings cozy warmth to this space.
Carrying to the upper level is a gorgeous dark-stained hardwood staircase with wrought iron spindles that curves gracefully to its mid landing - and this level features hardwood flooring throughout the upper hall and its media niche; four spacious bedrooms, all with broadloom; as well as two washrooms, both with ceramic finishes.
The second, third, and fourth bedrooms, as well as the two washrooms, all have California shutters on their windows - while the fourth bedroom features a walk-in closet, with double closets found in the second and third bedrooms. These three bedrooms also share a 4-pc washroom, which has a separate room for the water closet and bath area to maintain its privacy from the vanity and common use space.
This home also features a curved staircase to an unfinished lower level with great potential for future living and entertaining space; 9’ ceilings on the main level, as well as a walk-in coat closet in the foyer; a double car garage; a stone interlocking walkway and perennial landscaping in the front yard; and includes a central vacuum system with equipment, as well as all existing ceiling light fixtures.
Through a double door entry is the south-facing master bedroom. This light-filled retreat has a large walk-in closet, and showcases a beautiful 4-pc ensuite washroom complete with a soaker tub, pot lighting, and a glass shower.
Close to schools, the Northglen Neighbourhood Park, the Bowmanville Conservation Area, and both the Quarry Lakes and Bowmanville golf courses - this home is minutes away from the urban heart of Bowmanville for shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and community facilities - as well as being a short drive for access to Hwys 401, 407 and the 115 for commuting, while the future Bowmanville Go Station will be less than 10 minutes away.

Late Fall Scenes Along Bowmanville Creek (Enniskillen, ON - October 2015)
The scenes in this video were shot along a section of the Moorey's Mill Trail at Enniskillen Conservation Area, south of Enniskillen, Ontario (north of Bowmanville). There was a small amount of colour left in the leaves, during a late October afternoon walk. However, another main attraction at this conservation area is Bowmanville Creek, which served as a nice backdrop to the colourful leaves that were in the foreground. The late afternoon sun also provided ideal lighting for what was left of the foliage.
This video was shot during the final week of October, 2015.
