My first GoPro QuikStory video, using Hero 6 footage from a hike to Boyana Waterfall on Vitosha Mountain in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Boyana waterfall is a waterfall on the Boyana river , located about 5km from the capital city Sofia. It is the largest waterfall in the territory of Vitosha mountain. Water falls from a height of 25 m. The place where the waterfall is located, has retained its relatively unspoiled nature.
Boyana Lake is an artificial lake created in 1906 for the purpose of Boyana plumbing. In 1980, its economic significance ceases to exist and the lake quickly became a swamp. In its present form is due to the cleaning and stocking of grass carp in 2003

Боянски водопад е водопад на Боянската река , намиращ се край град София на около 5 km от центъра на кв.Бояна. Той е най-големият водопад на територията на планината Витоша. Водата пада от височина 25 m. Местността, в която се намира водопадът, е запазила своята природа сравнително незамърсена.
Боянското езеро е изкуствено създадено езеро през 1906 г. за целите на боянския водопровод. През 1980 г., стопанското му значение престава да съществува и езерото бързо се заблатява. В сегашният си вид е благодарение на почистването му и зарибяването с бял амур през 2003 г.

I arrived in Sofia by bus (using the Flixbus from Romania) and picked up a car rental and have been driving from Sofia to Shipka, Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo before continuing on here to the Krushana waterfalls. In my next video I will be visiting some caves before driving to Buelogradchik, I hope to see you there!

Boyana Waterfall. Very popular tourist attraction, especially during the summer. The place is very close to the capital Sofia. It can be reached in about an hour.

Feb 2017. The temperatures during winter 2016/2017 were well above zero for a long period which provided perfect opportunity for ice climbing all over the country.
