On October 22, the students at Dasin Elementary school had an all school field trip. The children were very excited about this break from the regular school day routine. They visited three museums and some historic sites in Lugang. Lugang has been a well-known Taiwanese town for over three hundred years. The first stop was the Health and Medical Science Museum at Chang Bin Shou Chwan Hospital. Here the students learned the functions of the human body. Next, at the Taiwan Glass Hall, the students were introduced to the basics of glass and its many uses in everyday life as well as in the arts. The students were impressed with the beauty of glass artwork. Then, at Brand's Health Museum, the students were shown the manufacturing process for the essence of chicken. Each student received a bottle of this product and was able to taste it for themselves. Ms. 陳曉琪, the principal of Dasin Elementary School, is very appreciative of all the hard work and the support of those who made this field day happen. She feels that the field trips are a wonderful and productive way to expand the horizons of the students. Principal 陳 also invited an English teacher from America to join them for the day further enriching the experience for the students. When the lunch break was over, the students were able to walk on the streets of this famous town. Tour guides helped explain the history of the town.
