Longest dreads ever! Rasta woman talks about hurricane Maria

In Dominica we found the longest dreads ever. The incredible more than 5 ft long dreadlocks belong to a rasta woman that talks about her experience with major hurricane Maria. The sailing lifestyle is one with a lot of ups and downs. That means for us, that we have great days sailing and exploring interesting islands in the caribbean, but also repairing Bamba Maru in the nicest bays around. Like this time the antenna, that broke and made Andy go up the mast to repair the mounting. Not everything can be repaired or replaced right away when the broken part is just too expensive for our budget, like the radar, that is broken since months.

Back ashore we get to know an amazing woman with the longest dreadlocks we've ever seen. She, her husband and their farm withstanded the brut force of hurricane Maria in 2018. She tells us how they survived being disconnected for more than three weeks. Dominica's nature is coming back and so are the farmers. To support also the local schools, we ask sailors to come back to visit this beautiful island between Guadeloupe and Martinique through our project - Sailing for a smile
