La birra Timmermans nasce 300 anni fa ad Itterbeek (1702), a poche miglia dal centro di Bruxelles, conosciuta come La Mole Brewery di proprietà di Jan Vandermeulen. Oltre ad un birrificio era una fattoria, un frutteto, una birreria ed una caffetteria.
Nel XX secolo, dopo sei generazioni, Paul Van Cutsem figlio di Frans Timmermans cambia il nome del birrificio in Timmermans Brewery. Nel 1985 viene prodotta la Bourgogne des Flandres, birra ad alta fermentazione scura considerata la miglior Lambic a fermentazione sponatanea, tecnica utilizzata solo da sei produttori di birra nel mondo (tutti situati vicino Bruxelles). Nel 1993 la birre Timmermans si trovano in tutto il mondo, grazie alle sue ricette tradizionali che gli permettono di vincere numerosi e prestigiosi premi internazionali, tanto da entrare nella Finest Beer Selection. Nel 2009 nasce il museo Timmermans aperto al pubblico. Nel 2013 Timmermans Oude Gueuze da 75cl vince la medaglia d'argento al WBA 2013 nella categoria sour beer e nel 2015, sempre nel World Beer Award, la medaglia d'oro.

И так, сегодня у нас «Timmermans Kriek Lambic» от бельгийской пивоварни Timmermans, ведущей свою историю из деревни Itterbeek.
Я много слышал об этом ламбике, в основном от любителей Бельгийской традиции пивоварения. Сразу скажу, что я дегустировал свежеразлитое пиво из кеги, поэтому бутылочная версия может слегка отличаться(так же в зависимости от выдержки в бутылке). Timmermans Kriek имеет бесспорно насыщенный, мутный гранатовый цвет.
Приступим к дегустации.
Аромат невыраженный и характеризуется обилием вишни, что неудивительно, ведь kriek с фламандского вишня. Небольшая еле уловимая кислинка. Высокая, густая, плотная пенная шапка, медленно осела. Карбонизация сильная.
Сделав первый глоток ламбика могу отметить неоспоримое доминирование вишни в ароматике. Этому пиву также присуща некая тонкая, ягодная терпкость, которая быстро угасает. Хмель едва ли различим. В свою очередь, сладковатое послевкусие также быстро пропадает. Плотность ламбика 12%, что вполне характерно для этого стиля пивоварения. Горечь здесь отсутствует как показатель, в принципе и пиво имеет фантастическую питкость. Пьётся одним, очень карбонизированным, цельным глотком. ABV в 4% говорит только о том, что мне, как любителю крепких стаутов, этого пива нужно инфернально много, чтобы почувствовать хоть какие-то симптомы алкогольного напитка. Пиво однозначно освежает.
Подводя итоги я могу порекомендовать это пиво ценителям Бельгийской традиции, девушкам и людям, которые оказались в пабе, однако, терпеть не могут хмель.

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two traditions are brought together here in a unique complacency, namely an original succulence never tempted before. The result is sublime, liberating a graceful taste tinted by a controlled acidity on the lambic confused with the dry fruity of the pumpkin and the discreet sugar added. By crossing the middle of the mouth appears a taste of brown sugar remembering and accentuating the convivial touch of Halloween.
Timmermans - History Of..
Lambic is a type of beer brewed traditionally in the Pajottenland region of Belgium (southwest of Brussels) and in Brussels itself at the Cantillon Brewery and museum.
Lambic is now mainly consumed after refermentation, resulting in derived beers such as Gueuze or Kriek lambic.[1]
Unlike conventional ales and lagers, which are fermented by carefully cultivated strains of brewer's yeasts, lambic beer is produced by spontaneous fermentation: it is exposed to the wild yeasts and bacteria that are said to be native to the Senne valley, in which Brussels lies. It is this unusual process which gives the beer its distinctive flavour: dry, vinous, and cidery, usually with a sour aftertaste.
The 2016 World Beer Festival in Columbia
World Beer Festival for Columbia South Carolina had over 200 beers, 35 ciders, a separate Belgian Beer Garden, and and really nice VIP section with its own beer selection and rest area. Several breweries from the local area such as River Rat Brewery, Swamp Cabbage, and Conquest were represented, while the Carolina area in general was out in force. Breweries from other parts of the United States such as Boulevard Brewing of Missouri, McKenzie's Hard Cider of New York (highly recommend them!), Widmer Brothers Brewing from Portland Oregon, and Kona Brewing from Hawaii offered some of the best choices to try. Out of country companies such as Strongbow (of Hereford, England), Wells & Young's Brewery, Timmermans Brewery Itterbeek, Guinness, Harp, and Rochefort brought some international flair and flavor to the festival as well.
This was such a blast even with the cold outside. While the eastern seaboard dealt with snowmaggedon, we had freezing temperature outside, but it was nice and warm inside. Everyone was so friendly, too! On a side note, I wore my Newcastle jersey to the event because it was the closest thing to a beer shirt I had.
