2 - Praia de Ponta Verde
Era conhecida antigamente como a Praia das Acanhadas pois era procurada pelas tímidas jovens da sociedade que queriam se banhar sem serem vistas e a Ponta Verde era cheia de imensos coqueiros. O nome atual foi herdado do Sítio Ponta Verde, que ficou conhecido por causa de um coqueiro de aparência inusitada - parecido com um pescoço de uma ema, o até hoje famoso Gogó da Ema. Por ser uma praia de águas calmas, pode-se praticar esportes náuticos como windsurf, caiaque e durante a maré baixa, formam-se piscinas de águas mornas.
3 - Praia de Ipioca
Localizada a 18 km de Maceió, a praia de Ipioca se caracteriza por suas areias claras, águas mornas e uma grande concentração de coqueiros, ideal para banhos relaxantes, caminhadas, pesca de caranguejos, lagostas ou peixes. Desfrutada pelos amantes do camping selvagem. É onde nasceu Floriano Peixoto, segundo Presidente da República.
4 - Praia Mirante da Sereia
Localizada a 12,5 km de Maceió, a praia Mirante da Sereia é bastante segura para o banho da garotada. Vale admirar a majestosa e imponente estátua da SEREIA, fincada entre os arrecifes, ou mesmo a beleza da natureza em seu mar aberto. As águas são limpas e, se o turista visitá-la durante a maré seca, terá o privilégio de ver uma verdadeira maravilha da natureza.

Fundado no dia 08 de agosto de 1993, por seu diretor Lauthenay Perdigão, o museu foi batizado com o nome de Edvaldo Alves Santa Rosa (Dida), um alagoano que começou jogando no CSA, se transferiu para o Flamengo onde passou doze anos. Dida foi tri-campeão carioca em 1953/54/55. Dida também jogou na seleção brasileira de 1958.

Considerado a maior referência da Cultura Popular Alagoana, o Museu Théo Brandão foi aberto ao público em 2002. O nome é em homenagem ao professor e folclorista Theotônio Brandão Vilela, cuja coleção de arte popular foi doada ao espaço. Nela estão fotografias, folhetos de cordel e livros. O museu expõe ainda objetos da cultura brasileira e de vários países, destacando-se México, Espanha, Portugal e alguns africanos.

O Museu do Instituto Histórico e Geográfico de Alagoas foi instalado em um edifício do século XIX, na antiga residência de Américo Passos Guimarães, adquirida no século XX pelo governo do Estado. No seu interior está guardado um importante acervo de pinturas, documentos históricos, objetos e peças pertencentes aos cultos afro-brasileiros do começo do século XX, sendo a coleção mais completa de todo Brasil.
10 - Teatro Deodoro
Foi construído entre o ano de 1905 e 1910, sendo inaugurado durante os festejos de 21 anos de proclamação da república, no dia 15 de novembro de 1910 e pertence ao Governo do estado. Está localizado no centro de Alagoas, composto de uma sala de espetáculos em estilo neoclássico com palco italiano, frisas, camarote, poltrona e fosso para orquestra. O Teatro tem capacidade para 690 lugares.

Future Generation Art Prize 2012 - Jonathas de Andrade, Brazil
Jonathas de Andrade was born in 1982 in Maceió and lives and works in Recife, Brazil. De Andrade's work has been commissioned for significant group exhibitions including the 29th Biennial of São Paulo (2010), the Sharjah Biennial 10 (2011), the 12th Istanbul Biennial (2011) and The Ungovernables, New Museum Triennial, New York (2012).
Jonathas de Andrade researches decaying systems and waning ideologies, reconstructing them through various means of documentation and archiving. From this process he develops conceptual installations that reflect on forms of cultural amnesia in which social, political, cultural and ideological issues vanish from the collective memory. A key focus for de Andrade is the now obsolete tropical modernism, the architectural translation of a failed system aimed to establish social equality.
For the PinchukArtCentre de Andrade has created a new work based in his exploration of tropical modernism. He has taken a decayed tile wall from a typically modernist house to build a conceptual installation that reflects on this forgotten ideology and follows the question if this wall is an original modernist design or a period copy after the fashions of a later day.

1 - Marco Zero

3 - Casa da Cultura de Recife
A Casa da Cultura é um antigo presídio recifense, desativado há cerca de 40 anos, que hoje funciona como ponto turístico. O local foi revitalizado e agora abriga lojinhas de artesanato e escritórios. É um ponto de parada muito interessante para tirar fotos, observar a arquitetura e, principalmente, fazer algumas comprinhas.
4 - Embaixada dos Bonecos Gigantes
A Embaixada dos Bonecos Gigantes expõe os famosos bonecos criados para participar do Carnaval nas duas cidades, permitindo que os turistas tenham uma clara ideia da dimensão, da estrutura e do modo de criação dos personagens. Os bonecos representam personalidades variadas, personagens de desenhos e figuras brasileiras que se destacam ao longo do ano.
5 - Centro de Artesanato de Pernambuco
Localizado ao lado do Marco Zero, no antigo armazém 11, o Centro de Artesanato proporciona um espaço de 2.511 m² onde funciona uma loja, um espaço gastronômico, assim como uma galeria para exposição, auditório e o setor administrativo da unidade. Com foco na arte popular e no artesanato tradicional, já foram comercializadas 106 mil peças artesanais de todas as regiões de Pernambuco.
6 - Forte das Cinco Pontas
O Forte de São Tiago das Cinco Pontas foi a última construção holandesa no Recife e tinha como objetivos proteger a capital pernambucana de ataques estrangeiros e ajudar na distribuição de água potável. Durante uma restauração, o Forte perdeu uma de suas pontas, mas o nome cinco pontas continua a ser usado na cidade. Atualmente o lugar abriga o Museu da Cidade de Recife, com exposições temporárias que contam um pouco da história do Recife.
7 - Sinagoga Kahal Zur Israel
A ocupação holandesa no Recife trouxe grande número de judeus portugueses de Amsterdã. Com eles, inúmeros cristãos-novos e descendentes que já viviam no Recife retornaram ao judaísmo, formando algumas congregações. Entre elas, a Kahal Zur Israel, Primeira Sinagoga das Américas. Em dezembro de 2001, o prédio original reconstituído foi aberto ao público, sendo hoje um dos mais importantes sítios turísticos da região. A edificação é a parte visível do que foi uma comunidade que atingiu 50% do total de habitantes de origem européia da época, deixando marcos da sua presença em muitos lugares.
8 - Praia de Boa Viagem
Boa Viagem é uma das praias mais visitadas nesta área, pois oferece uma interessante combinação entre os atrativos naturais e os impressionantes arranha-céus distribuídos ao longo da costa. A grande quantidade de coqueiros enfeitam os quase sete quilômetros de praia, enquanto os arrecifes suavizam as ondas e permitem desfrutar um agradável mergulho. É importante seguir a recomendação de não nadar além dos limites de arrecife para evitar o risco de possíveis ataques de tubarão e para proteger dos perigos inerentes das águas mais profundas.
9 - Rua do Bom Jesus
A Rua do Bom Jesus, antiga Rua dos Judeus, é uma das mais importantes do Recife. Ela é pequena, cheia de edifícios antigos e coloridos, entre eles um casarão onde foi construída uma das primeiras sinagogas das Américas. Aos domingos acontece uma feira de artesanato que torna a rua ainda mais interessante.
10 - Oficina Brennand
A Oficina Brennand pertence ao artista pernambucano Francisco Brennand, que herdou a propriedade de seu pai e transformou-a em um museu a céu aberto. O lugar tem ambientes distintos e serve como oficina para produção de uma das cerâmicas mais resistentes do Brasil e também como museu para expor as obras de Francisco. A Oficina proporciona um belo passeio aos amantes das artes.

Fortaleza (lit. Fortress, Portuguese pronunciation: [foʁtaˈlezɐ]) is the state capital of Ceará, located in Northeastern Brazil. With a population of over 2.5 million (metropolitan region over 3.4 million), Fortaleza is the 5th largest city in Brazil. It has an area of 313 square kilometres (121 sq mi) and one of the highest demographic densities in the country(8,001 per km²). To the north of the city lies the Atlantic Ocean; to the south are the cities of Pacatuba, Eusébio, Maracanaú and Itaitinga; to the east is the county of Aquiraz and the Atlantic Ocean; and to the west is the city of Caucaia. Residents of the city are known as Fortalezenses.
The current mayor is Luizianne Lins a former academic at the local Federal University of Ceará and well known feminist. On Beira-mar Avenue, kiosks and restaurants offer regional seafood, Sushi, Brazilian dishes and many more varieties of food; there are also many bars which provide anything from beer to cocktails. Unfortunately, the highest crime rates are also linked to these same areas, since tourism attracts criminous gangs. Prostitution, including children´s, is widespread in these touristic areas. At the handcraft fair (the feirinha), many stands show embroidery and leather work, as well as jewelry and regional food or artisinal cachaça. Of the urban beaches in Fortaleza, Praia do Futuro is the most frequented and is characterized by restaurants along the beach, each one with its own musical style and decoration.
The statue of Iracema refers to the legend of the Indian which was depicted in a novel by José de Alencar, a famous Brazilian author who originated from Fortaleza. Mucuripe Beach holds the Lighthouse Museum. Opened in 1846, the lighthouse was active for 111 years, until it was closed in 1957. Dragão do Mar Art and Culture Center holds the Cearense Culture Memorial, the Contemporary Art Museum and Rubens de Azevedo Planetarium, as well as movies and theaters. Besides this, many old warehouses were refurbished and became bars and restaurants surrounding the central area of town. There are cuisine and show options in the evening. It is most certainly one of the trendiest places to be seen.
Nightlife includes bars, nightclubs and restaurants, open every day in the week, besides the characteristic comedy shows that have introduced nationally famous artists. An off-season carnival, Fortal, happens in Fortaleza in July. With a remodeled structure in 2008, the event has parking lots, bleachers, stalls and food court. The event lasts 4 days and around 1.5 million people enjoy the nationally famous axé music bands. Fortaleza also stages music festivals in Brazil, such as Ceará Music. This yearly event includes local artists and international pop rock stars for 3 days. Around 25 thousand people enjoy the fun and several concerts, electronic music tents, and fashion shows.
The Pinto Martins International Airport connects Fortaleza with major Brazilian cities and also operates international flights. The city is home to the Federal University of Ceará

Recife - Brazil
Recife is the 4th-largest Metropolitan area in Brazil with 3,768,902 inhabitants, the largest metropolitan area of the North/Northeast Regions, the 4th-largest metropolitan influence area in Brazil, and the capital of the state of Pernambuco. The population of the city proper was 1,561,659 in 2009. Recife is located where the Beberibe River meets the Capibaribe River to flow into the Atlantic Ocean. It is a major port on the Atlantic Ocean. The name Recife means reef in Portuguese, in allusion to the coral reefs that are present by the city's shores. The many rivers, small islands and over 50 bridges found in Recife city center characterize its geography and gives it the moniker of the Brazilian Venice.
The Metropolitan Region of Recife is the main industrial zone of the State of Pernambuco; most relevant products are those derived from cane (sugar and ethanol), electronics, food, and others; thanks to the fiscal incentives of government, many industrial enterprises were started in the 1970s and 1980s. Recife has a tradition of being the most important commercial center of the North/Northeastern region of Brazil with more than 52,500 business enterprises in Recife itself plus 32,500 in the Metro Area which will total more than 85,000.
A combination of a large supply of labor and significant private investments turned Recife into Brazil's second largest medical center, (second only to São Paulo); modern hospitals with state-of-the-art equipment receive patients from several neighboring States. Like all other cities in the Northeast, Recife is developing its tourist sector. The beach of Porto de Galinhas, 60 kilometers (37 miles) south of the city, has been repeatedly awarded the title of best beach in Brazil and has drawn many tourists. Recife's infrastructure is among the most developed in Brazil for travellers and business people, though there is wide room for improvement.
The city is also a renowned educational center, and home to the Federal University of Pernambuco, the largest university in Pernambuco. Several Brazilian historical figures, such as the poet and abolitionist Castro Alves, moved to Recife to attain their education.
Recife is served by the Gilberto Freyre/Guararapes International Airport which connects Recife to several Brazilian destinations as well as major international cities in Europe, the United States and South America. Also, together with Natal these are the only Brazilian cities with direct flights to the paradise islands of Fernando de Noronha, World Heritage Site since 2001. ( source Wikipedia )
