Relaxed Performance of THE GHOST TRAIN
In June 2015 we hosted our first ever Relaxed Performance – a specially adapted matinee of THE GHOST TRAIN, a Royal Exchange Theatre and Told By An Idiot co-production.
Relaxed performances are designed to welcome anyone who will benefit from a more relaxed performance environment, and are for anybody who may be anxious about attending the Theatre for a range of reasons. This could be a fear of the dark, claustrophobia, a condition which makes it difficult to be silent, a fear of loud noise, or maybe because you find it hard to sit still for a long period of time.
For this Relaxed Performance, Director Paul Hunter made small changes to the staging, and there was a relaxed attitude to noise and movement. The doors to the Theatre were left open, allowing people to come and go from the auditorium at any time and there were breakout areas in the Great Hall. A cross-organisation team of staff and volunteers received bespoke training in preparation for the performance and there were special resources available in advance for all audience members including a Visual Guide To The Theatre.
“I just want to say I was really impressed with the work you had gone to to support students with autism during THE GHOST TRAIN. The staff were fantastic and I could tell they all had a clear understanding of the students visiting the theatre. We all felt very relaxed and catered for.”
“I would feel uncomfortable in the theatre environment under normal conditions and I really feel unwell with loud sudden noises and strobe lights and big crowds so I have steered away from a lot of cultural and sporting events and generally busy places for most of my life because of this. So thank you for the opportunity to visit the theatre for the relaxed performance of THE GHOST TRAIN - it was a pleasurable experience.”
“I thought the performance was excellent and the slight alterations were beautifully done. People living with disabilities felt comfortable.”
This Relaxed Performance of THE GHOST TRAIN was generously supported by The Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund, Manchester Guardian Society Charitable Trust, The D'Oyly Carte Charitable Trust and Ordinary People, Interesting Lives.

The Crystal Meth Epidemic Plaguing Fresno
Fresno is experiencing a meth epidemic.
Located in California’s Central Valley, the city is a hub for many major highways and is surrounded by vast farmlands. And while now, most meth is smuggled from Mexico, the valley was once an ideal location for meth manufacturing labs in the 1990's.
Today, methamphetamine is the number one threat for the Central Valley Drug Task Force, and, because latinos make up half of Fresno's population, they are also being affecting by this epidemic.
VICE's Paola Ramos traveled to Fresno to explore the history, factors and the ongoing relationship between the Latino community and methamphetamine use.

17 Insane Sightings From The 2016 Clown Craze
From the clowns in Croatia to the Tesco hammer clown, here’s some of the weirdest clown related incidents as reported all over the world.
Subscribe for weekly wacky videos and learn interesting facts about the world with awesome top 10 lists and other amazing videos.
6. The Gijón Clown
The clown craze swept through many parts of Europe from different parts of Scandinavia, all the way down to Spain. One of the most famous clowns spotted in Spain was given the name the Gijón clown since he as spotted in the northern Spanish city of Gijón. This trickster even had its own Instagram, where they garnered thousands of followers. Other instances across Spain of the clown craze were reported, such as when two clowns bothered a young girl in Madrid, clown sightings all over Paterna, and one sighted and filmed on the road in Lleida.
5. The Tesco Hammer Clown
There had been over 59 clown incidents in just Kent, UK alone last year, and that’s not counting the rest of the UK were clown sightings became rampant. In Plymouth, South West England, a man had been confronted by a clown with a hammer while the man was on his way home from Tesco at night. The clown blocked his path and refused to move. The man eventually got rid of the clown by chasing him away with a beer bottle from the crate he just bought from the market. The man was able to get camera out and film part of the incident. In Scotland, a former X factor contestant claimed they had been chased by a clown. Children about 10 years old living in Inverness reported that they had also seen an armed clown lurking at the playground.
4. The Real It
The new adaptation of Stephen King’s It was released in theaters just this past year, worrying authorities that the clown craze would find its resurgence. For those who haven’t seen It, the story features a clown that lures children in, often sporting a red balloon. But a year before the movie came out, reports of a clown holding red balloons was already reported in Dublin, Ireland, amongst many more clown sightings--though there seemed to have been no arrests relating to any of these events. However, this year, red balloons tied to drains started appearing in parts of Sydney, Australia. The balloons were accompanied with an eerie message, though it seems no creepy clowns seemed to have cropped up again this time.
3. The Zero Tolerance Policy
The German Interior Ministry had to announce a zero tolerance policy right before Halloween last year due to the abundant presence of clown related incidents, in the country. One of the first involved a man dressed as clowns in Wesel, reported to have been running around armed. A few days later, a group of clowns, some armed as well, were reported in different parts of Germany, with one 15 year old being threatened. In total, there had been over 30 reports of clown crimes and disturbances throughout the whole West European country.
2. The Clown In The Cornfield
This looks like a scene right out of a horror movie. Drone footage seemed to have captured a clown sitting in a cornfield in what is apparently Huntsville, Alabama. The video was uploaded onto YouTube, showing a clown spotting the drone and then fleeing from it. Many people cried “fake” upon viewing the video, which was uploaded around the start of the clown craze last fall. The video was uploaded onto the YouTube channel Golden Hour, with the video intended to be uploaded on Instagram before the viewer spotted the overall-clad clown.
1. The California Clowns
In the US alone there had been countless clown sightings. Many of these came from California, a rather large state. Northern California held an abundant amount of these clown reports. In the towns of Vallejo, Fairfield, and Sacramento, people dressed up as clowns and threatened the public campuses of these areas, causing a panic amongst students and parents. In the town of Fontana, a 14 year old was taken into custody after making clown related threats towards their school. One of the last clown sightings in the state took place at University of California, Davis at the West Village Apartment complex. There, an clown had apparently been messing with the complex residents.

Principality of Sealand
The Principality of Sealand is a micronation located in the North Sea. Its mass consists of what was HM Fort Roughs, a former Second World War Maunsell Sea Fort, off the coast of Suffolk, England, United Kingdom.
While it has been described as the world's smallest country, or the world's smallest nation, Sealand is not recognised by any established sovereign state, although Sealand's government claims it has been de facto recognised by the United Kingdom (after an English court ruled it did not have jurisdiction over Sealand as territorial water limitations were defined at the time) and Germany (see below).

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
The Southern Palestine Offensive, employing manoeuvre warfare, began on 31 October 1917, with the Battle of Beersheba, during the Sinai and Palestine Campaign, of World War I. After the capture of Beersheba, by the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF), the Gaza to Beersheba line became increasingly weakened and, seven days later, the EEF successfully forced the Ottoman Turkish Empire's Seventh and Eighth Armies to withdraw. During the following seven days of pursuit, the Turkish forces were pushed back to Jaffa. There followed three weeks of hard fighting in the Judean Hills before Jerusalem was captured on 9 December 1917. During five and a half weeks of almost continuous offensive operations, the EEF captured 47.5 miles (76.4 km) of territory.
After a joint attack by the XX and the Desert Mounted Corps, Beersheba at the eastern end of the Gaza to Beersheba line, was captured. The next day, on 1 November, the Battle of Tel el Khuweilfe began, with an advance north of Beersheba into the Judean foorhills, by the 53rd (Welsh) and the ANZAC Mounted Divisions. This move up the road from Beersheba to Jerusalem, also threatened Hebron and Bethlehem.
