A Guide to Downhill Mountain Biking In Breckenridge, Colorado
I'm not as much of a mountain biker as Aaron is, so he's going to share his insights to enjoying Breckenridge on two wheels in the summer!
In this video, he talks about where to park, his favorite trails, when to go, and the kind of bike you'll need, and how to get started if you are an absolute beginner. Based on his report, Breckenridge is a beginner friendly place to mountain bike, and the fact that it's beautiful doesn't hurt either!
He also references a great pizza place called Piante Pizzeria. Anyone that I know who has eaten at this vegan pizza place has raved about their food. Follow this link to view their website:

No Car? No Problem. Why You Don't Need A Car To Visit Breckenridge, Colorado
The best way to explore Breckenridge’s quaint historic streets is with boots and bikes, leave the car at home.
Here are 5 reasons why going car free in Breckenridge will lead you to be care free on your next trip.
1. Save $ and hassle with airport shuttles
a. There are so many shuttle options leaving almost hourly from nearby airports and downtown Denver, book at shuttle, sit back, relax and take in the views of the Rocky Mountains on your way to Breckenridge. You’re on vacation after all!
2. Breck FREE ride bus service
a. It’s all in the name, but the Breck Free Ride is Breckenridge’s FREE transportation shuttle that will take you everywhere you want to go around Breckenridge. There’s even a free app to find the closest bus to you.
3. Foot or Bike
a. Breckenridge is quaint historic town that you can walk end to end in less 20 minutes so it’s incredibly easy to get around on foot. If you’d rather two wheels, bike rentals are perfect for the rec trails and bike lanes that rated a gold level Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclist.
4. Lodging Shuttle
a. The majority of Breckenridge lodges have complimentary shuttle service. Give them a quick call and get a lift to local attractions, shops, restaurants and events. I recommend you walk and take in the view, but I know your day must have been action packed
5. Gondola
a. The BreckConnect Gondola operates for free in the winter and the summer so no matter if you are hitting the slopes, checking out summer’s Epic Discovery or just trying to spot some non-human residents from above, the gondola is a must-adventure when you are in Breckenridge.

STATE WHEELS | 2018 Breck Epic, Part 1
Breck Epic, where we were the Official Wheel partner, marked our second stop on our Colorado trip this summer, providing neutral support at this 6-day arduous mountain bike race. Breck Epic includes 6 stages between 35-50 miles, all finishing within a mile of downtown Breckenridge and utilizing the vast trail network that Breckenridge is famous for. A rich week of shared experiences.
With a long race and challenging race, unexpected mechanicals happen, which is where we come into play. Sometimes we are helping with small but stubborn mechanicals, providing a new STATE wheel for a rider to finish the series on after a serious mishap, or even taking people down from the mountain for non-emergencies like busted shoulders.
Events like these take a ton of effort on the participant's end physically, but it was also no light duty for us! We spent 11-12 hours a day working for 6-days straight, all for you. Big thanks to Sem Gallegos from Kogel Bearings, who was our partner in the event, helping our well-oiled neutral support keep everyone's bike working smoothly. We feel that beyond just bomb-proof fast wheels, we love to build community through support like this.

Big thanks to Nick and Sydney at Breck Bike Guides at Breckenridge, CO for making this ride possible.
Fat Tire Mountain biking in Breckenridge, CO with the family. This ride included a lot of inexperienced riders which lead to a very slow ride, but it's fun to get people out to ride whom are new to mountain biking on uneven terrain and dangerously icy conditions to improve their skills.

Colorado Cycling Keystone to Dillon Bike Path
Colorado Cycling Keystone to Dillon Bike Path -
This is one of my favorite stretches of the Summit County Rec Path.
This paved bike and hike path stretches from Breckenridge to Keystone, Copper Mountain, Frisco, Dillon, and Vail. I'm still new to exploring it and have not seen all of the paths yet.
One of the many great things about Summit County, and specifically Breckenridge is that the public transit and bike paths are so wonderful that a car is absolutely unnecessary here.
I have been injured and unable to get too adventurous since February, 2015. I hope to start on some single-track in the next month or two. First I have to focus on just learning to walk again though.
There are plenty of hardcore bicycling activities in Summit County, from downhill mountain biking that is supported by ski lifts and gondolas to skate parks and dirt jump tracks.
Make sure to visit our youtube channel and website often for more amazing mountain videos!

Breckenridge Colorado - Barney Flow trail
This was my first cross country ride in Colorado - damn, thin air sucks as I gasp for breath you can forget climbing the first couple of days.
You can thank Scott and his crew from the city of Breckenridge for creating this sweet little gem. Also the folks at Mountain Wave who hooked me up with a sweet Trek 29er rental bike - thanks for the ride Mountain Wave. What is really cool is the city has a free bus ride to haul you and your bike up to the top of their cross country mountain bike trail system - only down side is the three bike bus rack capasity - get in line on a busy day.
Enjoy
