Bredbury is a suburban town in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England, 7.9 miles south-east of Manchester, 1.8 miles east of Stockport and 3.2 miles south-west of Hyde. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 13,593.The town reaches to the lower southern slopes of Werneth Low, an outlier of the Peak District between the valleys of the River Tame and River Goyt, head-waters of the River Mersey.

ROY RICHARDSON STILL COACHING AT 86 - FOUNDER OF BREDBURY BOXING CLUB STOCKPORT

At 86 Roy Richardson is still going strong and remains a main stay at the Bredbury Boxing Club in Stockport, now called The Roy Richardson Boxing Academy.

He first walked into a gym at 6 years old and never looked back. He boxed in the army and the boxing booths and after the war decided to set up his own gym and become a coach. We went along to speak to Roy and ask him about his life in boxing.

This week we visited the rising sun pub in Bradbury, Stockport after contacting the landlady and hearing about some of the experiences she has had whilst running the pub.
