My first video of York Gate was blocked in Germany so I have now put Kevin MacLeod’s Royalty Free Music to it in the hope that my followers and subscribers in Germany can view it.
The Spencer family, Sybil and her husband Frederick bought the property in1951 when their son, Robin was 17. It was at that time a farm, but they soon started to create a garden. When Frederick died 1963 it was Robin who went on to develop it into rooms that you see today with his mother’s knowledge of plants. Sadly Robin died in1982 at the age of 47. Sybil cherished the garden, adding to the plant collection. She died in 1994 and it was her wish it was to pass to the “Perennial” Gardener’s Royal Benevolent Society who now maintain this special garden. Hope you like it. Burnby Hall Gardens, Yorkshire.

Burnby Hall Gardens in Pocklington is known for its Water Lilies but we went at the end of October on a lovely early Autumn day and we were not disappointed. On our next visit we will go when Water Lilies are in flower as I am sure they will look lovely. Suitable for Children and Family viewing
