RV Camping Michigan Trip 2017 - Episode 2 - Dover, Ohio to Ann Arbor, Michigan
We leave the Breitenbach Winery that we stayed at for free with Harvest Hosts and set out enroute to Ann Arbor, Michigan. We head north on I-77 towards Cleveland. We pass the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio and we are amazed with the size of the complex. WE head west on the Ohio Turnpike and go all the way to just south of Toledo, before heading north. We finally make it to the Brighton State Recreation Area on Bishop Lake. It was a nice little campground, but very busy on a Saturday evening. Here are a couple of tips. You will need a separate pass for your vehicles that you will need to pay for. As an out-of-state resident, we opted for the yearly pass of $32 over the $8/day pass. We planned on going to other state parks and figured we might save a little money and would avoid the hassle of having to buy more passes. The second tip is to be sure that you have full water tanks before setting up on your site. There are no water hookups at your campsite. Only the electric pedestal. We make our way down into Ann Arbor, where the University of Michigan is located. Our daughter will be graduating from high school in the next few years and this is one of the colleges she is interested in. We ate dinner at Kang's Korean Restaurant on the campus. It was great! I was stationed in Korea in the Air Force and miss that good old bulgogi! And yes, I like kimchi too!
