Hell, yeah, man! This is the shit! Last week, Manchester's RITUAL KING released their incredible debut, 'Elixir' (2016) and, frankly, I'm not sure how it slipped past me until now. The guitar playing is vibrant, reminding me a lot of Portland's Danava. The vocals are up-tempo classic rock. This is definitely a fun listen and one that will definitely get your ass out of bed after a bender. Billy Goat - Doomed & Stoned.
The band show that they can deliver anthem like rock that's not only “now” but commercial too, without losing the factors that make the band so hot. Across five compositional gems and nearly twenty three minutes of music, you'll find songs that will have every seventies rock fan clamoring to join the ride while all fans of superbly delivered Classic Rock should form an orderly queue to snap up this tastiest of morsels. A rock band, built like they used to make them. Recalling bands like Cream, Grand Funk Railroad, Mountain. The trio bring that authentic seventies bluesy hard rock sound that sounds oh so good to the brain. Obviously the whole retro music scene is getting pretty crowded these days, and not all of these new bands are worth any attention. Ritual King, though, is worth your undivided attention.

It is plainly obvious that these three guys are at one with their instruments and each other, the arrangements on all tracks require a ‘tightness’ which belies the newness of the band. To conclude the band have given us “Unorthodox Satisfaction” but to be honest the satisfaction you will get from this EP is of a very orthodox nature – it is just faultless and this final track puts together all the elements of the EP into a nice, neat, hammer down, bundle. Not many bands can create such a unique sound and such an unbelievable listening experience. This band are going places and will have no problem getting there by the sounds of it.

These are a band to watch and this reviewer will certainly be watching them again. Catch them if you can.

In October of 2002, a road bridge was completed which spanned the railway separating Mexborough and Denaby. Up till then there had been a level crossing, and over the years as more vehicles came onto the road, many hold ups and backlogs of traffic occurred. This film shows the development of the bridge, from the beginning, to completion, and the official opening ceremony.
