Covered Bridge Festival At Bridgeton Indiana In Parke County 2015
The Covered Bridge Festival in Parke County, Indiana, starts every year on the second Friday in October. This was the first time we had ever been there, and we had a good time! Bridgeton, IN., is one of the cities in that participates in the Covered Bridge Festival, with the other main cities being Mansfield and Rockville. The Covered Bridge Festival has everything imaginable to eat and to buy. There was even a Titanic Exhibit there! The Mansfield Covered Bridge is pretty awesome itself, and right next to it is a working mill where you can buy flour and pancake mix, among other things. It's definitely worth the trip, which for us was about 100 miles! It was one of those events that has been on our list of things to do for a long time!

Rockville, Indiana is a big part of what is known as the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival. Along with Mansfield and Bridgeton, Rockville is a big center of activity for the Covered Bridge Festival every year starting on the 2nd Friday of October and running for 10 consecutive days. We had been to Mansfield and Bridgeton before, but this was our first time at Rockville, and we really enjoyed it! We found so much good food there, along with tons of booths featuring a huge variety of items for sale. There are some very artistic people represented here with beautiful handcrafted items. There's custom woodworking, handmade candles, and even barbed wire art! You can spend all day here just shopping and eating!

Bridgeton COVERED BRIDGE — Parke County, IN
While travelling the western part of Indiana in Parke County, I visited The Bridgeton Covered Bridge, a 245-foot (75 m) long double span Burr Arch bridge built in 1868 by a crew led by J.J. Daniels. The bridge was closed to traffic in 1968. The first Bridgeton Covered Bridge was burned by an arsonist on April 28, 2005.. This second Bridgeton Covered Bridge was built in 2006 by local citizens and the state of Indiana., This beautiful covered bridge is located in the town of Bridgeton in Parke County, Indiana. — This video was taken with a Sony DSC-T900 Camera. This video was recorded at 11:55 am local time and is best viewed in 720p High-Definition. — Indiana Traveller
My Review of the SONY DSC-T900:
So far, I like this camera and I think it's far better than the reviews would suggest. The lens assembly is internal, so the DSC-T900 doesn't have the traditional pop-out lens assembly that extends when the camera is turned-on (as found on most other compact cameras of this size). Despite having a relatively tiny internal lens assembly, this camera captures excellent images and video! 12MP photos, 720p High Definition Video and Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization makes for one nice little camera! — Indiana Traveller
Bridgeton Covered Bridge
The Bridgeton Covered Bridge in Bridgeton, Indiana was burned on April 28, 2005. On August 28, 2006 the frame of the new covered bridge will be lifted into place.
Road Trip to the Covered Bridge Festival
We took a Road trip to the Park County Covered Bridge Festival hoping to buy a few things to decorate the log home. We went to Bridgeton and Mansfield, but there are yard sales and vendors setup all over the county in every town.

Covered Bridge Festival At Mansfield In Parke County Indiana 2015
The Parke County Indiana Covered Bridge Festival is held in several different cities within the county. We went to the cities of Bridgeton and Mansfield to see just what the Covered Bridge Festival was all about! Well, it was all about food and shopping, as there was plenty of both. There was all kinds of food imaginable, a lot of it the type of food you would find at a fair. That means food that isn't necessarily good for you, but it tastes great! There was also row after row of shopping. There were a lot of vendors that we would classify as flea market type sellers, as well as name brands such as Usborne Books and Tupperware. There was also a very cool covered bridge and a mill that are worth the trip alone. We had a great time, and were amazed at how many vendors were actually there! Go if you get the chance!
