Bridlington Old Town – A video drive along the High Street -
Hopefully the video shows the High Street, not particularly at its best, more of how it is now. Although it is still a street of character and fine architecture along with a deep history.

It’s not all about the sun, sea and sand. Right in the heart of Bridlington is the Old Town. A world away from the bustling beaches, the Old Town offers a slower pace of life with lots of things to do and see. Make the most of this historic hub by following the Old Town Trail exploring some fine heritage landmarks along the way. The stunning Priory Church dates back to 1113AD and was originally one of England’s leading monasteries. This awe-inspiring building is definitely worth a visit. The Old Town is packed full of independent shops and galleries with plenty of hidden treasures to be found.
Bridlington is a coastal town and civil parish on the Holderness Coast of the North Sea, situated in the unitary authority and ceremonial county of the East Riding of Yorkshire approximately 24 miles (39 km) north of Hull. The Gypsey Race river runs through the town and emerges into the North Sea in the town harbour. In the 2011 Census the population of the parish was 35,369.[1]
Bridlington is a minor sea fishing port with a working harbour and is well known for its shellfish. It has a mix of small businesses across the manufacturing, retail and service sectors with its prime trade being tourism during the summer months.
The origins of the town are uncertain, but archaeological evidence shows habitation in the Bronze Age and in Roman times. The settlement at the Norman conquest was called Bretlinton, but has also gone by the names of Berlington, Brellington and Britlington, before settling on its modern name in the 19th century.[2]
The town is twinned with Millau in France and Bad Salzuflen in Germany.[3] One of the UK's coastal weather stations is located at Bridlington. The Priory Church of St Mary and the associated Bayle Gate are Grade I listed buildings. The church stands on the site of the original Augustine Priory.

BRIDLINGTON WALK | Bridlington Seafront Walk
BRIDLINGTON WALK | A walk along Bridlington Seafront from Bridlington Harbour along the seafront to the beach steps.
Bridlington is a seaside coastal town in Yorkshire, UK. It's a very popular seafront town and a popular holiday destination in summer months.
In winter Bridlington can be quite quiet but there's still plenty to enjoy whether you're walking around the harbour, shopping in the town centre or enjoying a walk along the beach and dipping your toes in the North Sea.
We start the walking tour at Bridlington Harbour Steps looking out to sea before turning towards Mr P's Fish and Chips on Garrison Street, next door to Ice Delights and Leisureland. As we walk up we pass Funland and Taylor Made Fun on the left with Rock Candy across the street.
Jerome's ice creams is next up on the right and you can see the funfair just over the fence however when we filmed this it was out of season and so the Promenade Amusement Park was closed.
A quick look over at The Crescent and Marlborough Terrace and we arrive at the English pub Hook And Parrot directly opposite Jeromes, one of Bridlington's most popular bars.
We then come to Treasure Island which is an amusement arcade as well as a pirate ghost walk tourist attraction.
Further up our Bridlington seafront walk we come to The Lodge which seems to be a popular Bridlington restaurant.
The Forum is next on the left with amusements, bingo, bar, carvery and even a cinema built into this huge leisure complex.
As we walk past The Forum we come to the large ferris wheel overlooking Bridlington beach and the North Sea down in the Promenade Amusement Park. Again all closed for the winter
We come to a yellow telescope that's ready for holidaymakers to use to look out to sea.
Our short walk comes to an end as we look down to the beach and out to sea as we stand outside Bridlington Leisure Centre and Cafe Vibe. We think that there is a Premier Inn Hotel inside but didn't get time to check it out
And that's it! A walk along Bridlington Seafront!

BRIDLINGTON WALK | A walk round Bridlington Harbour ????????????
BRIDLINGTON WALK | A walk round Bridlington Harbour ????????????
Walk through Bridlington Harbour starting at Harbour Road and ending with views of the Bridlington seaside.
We start our tour around Bridlington Harbour outside the fish and chips restaurant a the top of Harbour Road and walk down the sloped cobbled street down to the harbourside.
Bridlington is a Yorkshire coastal town and beach situated on the East Coast of Yorkshire, England and on the North Sea and we took to the streets to film a series of Bridlington Video Tours.
As we walk around Bridlington Harbour we can see the fishing and pleasure boats moored up. We were here on the 30th January 2017 so it was out of the main season for the town and quite quiet with many shops, restaurants and amusement arcades closed.
The beaches were open and there were a few fishermen catching fish in the Bridlington sea but that's about it really.
Bridlington is known as a seaside tourist and holiday destination but is also a minor fishing town also and is probably best known for it's shellfish
As we walk round the Bridlington Harbour we pass the fishing boats but also we can see the guesthouses, hotels and B&B's that holidaymakers would visit during the summer months.
