Riding the NEW brightline Train- Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach, Florida
In this video I describe my experience riding the New Brightline train which opened for passenger service between Fort Lauderdale and west Palm Beach in January 2018, as the only privately owned and operated passenger railroad in the United States (HUGE). features are- Leather seats, wide aisles, bike racks, free wireless Internet — with two power outlets and two USB ports per seat. Brightline says will appeal to its target customers, which include tourists, business travelers and Millennials. A full ride on Florida's Brightline Train from Miami to West Palm Beach, FL
Here's a full video ride along Florida's Brightline train from my visit to the Sunshine state. From Miami to West Palm Beach, FL via a stop at Fort Lauderdale. Powered by the Siemens Charger SCB-40 engine. To view only sections of this video, review the [TIME POINTS] below.

Note 1: The Brightline service began in January 2018, providing inter-city service within the state of Florida. It's kind of like an alternative to Amtrak's Long Distance Silver Services. The Brightline operates daily. Currently the service operates between Miami (MiamiCentral Station) to West Palm Beach with only a stop at Fort Lauderdale. In the future, service will continue to Orlando (ETA early 2020s) and possibility of expanding to other cities in FL, such as Jacksonville as well.
Note 2: Speed was averaged around 80MPH. Trains operate via Florida East Coast Railway (FEC Railway Freight line) mainly.
Note 3: Video was taken from the left (west) side of the train with peeking in the interior in certain portions. The car I was in was extremely light, with mostly me on the train as well as 1-2 passengers.

Brightline Fort Lauderdale to West Palm View
End to End view out the window on the first northbound Brightrail train with fare paying passengers. From Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach, this is the view out the west facing window for the entire trip (minus a minute or so when I had to change the camera battery.)
I have left the audio although it captures conversations in the railcar, nothing is said that would identify or embarrass anyone. (A brightrail marketing person did introduce herself at one point, but she's a representative of the Brightline.)

A get-it-while-you-can package of six Brightline passenger train catches while out trackside for various trainwatching activities. We visit Wynwood, Croissant Park, Fort Lauderdale Station, and Hollywood. I was able to compile Bright Blue, Red, Orange, and Pink -- but Green is certainly in another video.
Brightline runs along the Florida East Coast mainline, and is owned by Softbank with a minority stake from the Virgin Group from November 2018. As of January 2019 the passenger service offers 34 weekday trips, more than were initially projected from Miami-Orlando as All Aboard Florida. The West Palm Beach-Orlando section will begin work soon.

Train Ride Thru South Florida Brightline Maiden Voyage
Train Ride thru South Florida, this is the Brightline Red Maiden Voyage from Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach in which I filmed the trip through the rails. You'll see all the different railroad crossings and all the buildings and sites here. For a first trip I was impressed; it was very smooth and we hit 80 MPH heading North. This train runs on FEC tracks so it will be common for you to see a freight train right next to your window. On this trip we will go through Oakland Park, Wilton Manors, Lantana, and Deerfield Beach. Unfortunately, my storage space ran out 1 minute before I got to the WPB station so the video abruptly ends; I apologize!

Brightline Birthday!
On the day it came out, we rode on Brightline train BrightRed and took videos. We also encountered a freight train at WPB station when we were getting on for the ride home. I hope you enjoy/ed this video and leave a like and hit that subscribe button!
W Broward Blvd Railroad Crossing, Fort Lauderdale, FL
This is another massive crossing. Here we see the Brightline Green and Pink smart coaches again!
Other than this crossing being massive, there is not much to say about it. All typical FEC equipment, with one oddity. The GS Type 3 E-Bell behind the cantilever is on a low gate mast. It is also next to the Brightline station. It is on the left.
Brightline Green
I caught the Brightline Green today as it was approaching the station from the north. I was coming from the FEC yard just down the road. I hope you enjoy. Don't forget to like and subscribe!
Orlando to Tampa BrightLine Extension Proposal
I’m back with another proposal. I have decided to do some experimenting with a new style of recording where I record the audio and then the video. This removes clicking noises from my mouse. I also got a Blue Yeti for Christmas, which is a massive improvement over the logitech USB headset that I had. So I hope that the audio quality is better in this video than in the other one.
However, that’s not important. In this proposal, I create a BrightLine extension from Orlando International Airport to Tampa. You most likely have heard of planned extensions for BrightLine before. However, there isn’t an alignment specifically chosen for BrightLine. I wanted to create my own alignment to spark discussion about a possible alignment in between the two cities. It’s not perfect, but it doesn’t have to be if you want to aid discussion of a proposal.
EDIT (04/12/18): The fares presented were the introductory fares. This video came out before the $0.535 per mile fares were proposed, so I didn't know what the actual fares were at the time. Here are the fares from MCO to the other stations West:
MCO - Disney World: $9.63
MCO - Lakeland: $29.96
MCO - Florida State Fair: $43.87
MCO - Tampa: $47.08

Recently, the service has been renamed to Virgin Trains USA.
