Brins Mesa Hike Sedona, AZ
Hiking up to the Vista on the Brins Mesa trail. The trail is right in the heart of Sedona and offers a decent climb to some great views. If you continue down the trail you will end up on the Vultie Arch road. Wed went up to the vista and then back down. We also explored the Jordan trail and Cibola Pass trail.

Brins Mesa - The most beautiful hike in Sedona
We hiked the Brins Mesa trail, one of our favorite hikes in Sedona, Arizona.
Distance Round Trip: 4.4 miles
Elevation Gain: ~1000 ft
It's about 1.5 miles from the trailhead to the mesa rim. The first mile is mostly flat with about 550 feet of total elevation gain happening in the back third of the trail. At the top you'll find spectacular views in all directions. Some parts of the hilltop still remain bare from a fire that scorched the area back in 2006.
But don't stop there! The main trail will continue on straight across a grassy field. If you hunt around a little, you'll find a small unmarked trail branching off to the right. Follow it another 0.7 miles along the rim to a large rock formation that juts out over the canyon. The views of Mormon Canyon and the surrounding red rocks are amazing!!!
The Brins Mesa trail is well marked and starts from a small parking lot just off the main strip in Sedona at the end of Jordan Road. The lot is small and can fill up quick, so try to arrive early! Pay the parking fee ($5 as of writing) at the automated machines. You can also hang a Red Rock or America the Beautiful pass in your window if you have one.
Directions from the main traffic circle in Sedona to the trailhead parking lot are mapped here:

We parked on Airport Road, climbed to the top of the small saddle (Airport Saddle), then picked up the Airport Loop Trail which immediately bends to the left to follow the southeast slope of the mesa. There are great red rock views from northeast to south over lower Oak Creek Valley.

Hiking Bear Mountain Trail Sedona Arizona
The trail to top of the Bear Mountain is steep in spots, mostly unshaded but offers spectacular views along the entire hike. It's one of those it's the journey, not the destination, kind of hikes! A locals favorite.
