BRINKBURN PRIORY NORTHUMBERLAND 2011
Brinkburn Priory was a medieval monastery built on a bend of the River Coquet, some 4 miles (6 km) east of Rothbury, Northumberland, England. Little survives of the structures erected by the monks apart from the Priory Church, which is a grade I listed building in the care of English Heritage.

Wedding Brinkburn Priory Northumberland
Brinkburn Priory, it's a new venue for us today and we are a little more excited than usual. Situated 15 minutes outside of Morpeth town centre in the heart of Northumberland countryside we approach the priory. Both myself and Kathryn's jaws hit the floor as the main Priory building reveals itself at the end of the road. We have filmed weddings for 10 years now and never heard of this place. It still amazes me how spoilt for choice a North-East bride is when it comes to choosing their wedding venue.
We have a look inside the Priory and the stained glass windows are quite simply wonderful. We later learn in the day that they are the only thing that has been replaced in the 12th-century church of the Augustinian building.
Anyway onto the bride and groom for today. I make my way around the Priory and through to the cottages where the Martin and Claire are.
The lads are all ready with their kilts and drinking whisky (only a little bit BTW). Each groomsman is taking it in turns to walk the dog. I feel I have to give the dog a mention as it was specifically mentioned by the bride and groom to get lots of footage of the dog. One specific shot request was to “get Martin walking the dog”. When a bride puts this right at the top of her desired shortlist you know the dog is important.
We proceed to the ceremony I am greeted by Reverend James Harvey. I feel I need to mention the Reverend as obviously he plays an important part in the day but this guy was born to marry people. Putting the bride and groom at ease and making me & Kathryn feel welcome in the building.
After the ceremony, we proceed to photographs with David Johnson photography. We have worked with David a few times in the past and get along very well, so much so that one of the bridesmaids thought we were one company. I think for any brides reading this it's important that your photographer and videographer get along.
Upon completion of the group shots and probably new facebook profile pictures… we proceed to the TIPI. Oh yeah sorry, I forgot to mention the TIPI before didn’t I! Yes, a TIPI with what I believe is a Swedish log burner inside and outside.
After some heartfelt speeches, the night draws to a close. I find out that we are only the 4th videographer ever here! We feel privileged to have recorded such an amazing day with such elegant, historic and natural surroundings.

Poet, author, harmonica player and general good egg Donald Clegg reciting one of his hilarious 'pomes' about a dance at Windyhaugh, Northumberland. The occasion is the visit by poet Simon Armitage CBE to give a reading at the Heritage Centre at Bellingham, Northumberland, NE 48 2DF ON Saturday 10 July 2010. The poet was walking the Pennine Way. Donald was one of the local musicians and singers who also took part in the entertainment. Donald is co-author with Clive Dalton of Daft Laddies -- a book of humorous stories about life in Northumberland. Circular walk in the Harthope valley in Northumberland National Park starting at Carey burn bridge and climbing the hills overlooking Coldgate water to North Middleton. The walk then turns back through Happy valley following the river back to the starting point. The walk is roughly 4 miles long and is graded moderate. The Williams sung by Voicemale
The Williams is a song written by Graham Stacy, musical director of Voicemale. The song was written for the naming ceremony of a ship of that name in Blyth, Northumberland in April 2016 and tells the story of the original 'Williams'. Captain William Smith in the British merchant brig Williams, while sailing to Valparaíso, Chile in 1819 deviated from his route south of Cape Horn, and on 19 February sighted Williams Point, the northeast extremity of Livingston Island. Thus Livingston Island became the first land ever discovered south of the 60th southern latitude.
