Bristol Zoo, April 2019
With a spare afternoon I decided to visit Bristol Zoo, located in the Clifton area of Bristol the Bristol Zoological Gardens opened in 1836, and is the world's oldest provincial zoo and is home to over 7000 individual animals from over 400 different species. In this video we take a look around the zoo, starting and the lions, before venturing into the dark 'Twilight World', the first of it's kind when it opened, the Reptile house and diving beneath the waves. Moving round the site we pay a visit to the Monkey Jungle, Seal & Penguin Coasts and the Gorilla Island. All set within beautifully themed enclosures.

Bristol Zoo's 180th birthday edit
Bristol Zoo have raided their archives to pull together some rare and previously unseen footage from their past
Bristol Zoo's Grill for Gorillas conservation campaign
In 2013, Bristol Zoo Gardens launched a brand new conservation campaign called Grill for Gorillas, designed to encourage guests to purchase FSC certified products for their summer barbecues.
Unsustainable wood extraction is one of the biggest threats to biodiversity worldwide, linked to habitat destruction in forests where species such as the western lowland gorilla live. The FSC certification system offers consumers the ability to identify, purchase and use wood products which have been sourced from well-managed forests.
Enjoy this video insight into the campaign.
