Haunted Hitchin - British Schools Museum - Paranormal Ghost Investigation
Wilderspin School Museum volunteers compare the Lancasterian schoolroom
A visit by volunteers from the Wilderspin School Museum in Barton upon Humber, North Lincolnshire visiting another key heritage school in the story of Britain's education system - Hitchin British School. The visit was part of a project called All Our Stories, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. We wanted to put the ideas of Samuel Wilderspin and his Infant School System into a broader context by looking at Joseph Lancaster's British Schools.
Scotland Street School Museum
This was a little project my kids and I did while visiting this great museum.
Like most museums in Scotland, it is free to get in (donations welcome) and is well worth a visit.

Year 6 Victorian School Trip
Year 6 visited the British Schools' Museum in Hitchin to learn about the Victorian classroom.
1st Harrow Weald Hitchin open day 2007
The Scouts were invited to take part in The British Schools Museum open day
They wanted the scouts to put on a show for the visitors
They asked all the local groups, unfortunately, none were available so we took up the call
We cooked pancakes, abseiled down the large wall at the back and pitched a tent on the tarmac car park...
The British Schools Museum is an educational museum based in original Edwardian and Victorian school buildings in Hitchin in Hertfordshire, England
We had a guided tour after it closed where the scouts got to play the Edwardian and Victorian school child
