A two mile circular walk starting and finishing at the Brock Valley Picnic site and car park. Parking was free and there were no height restrictions for the car park when we visited. There are a number of [geocaches]( along the walk for those who like that sort of thing and the walk takes around one and a half hours. Good walking boots or wellingtons are recommended.
The hidden ruins of Belle Vue Farm in Dalton, Lancashire
Mr H and the girls explore the hidden ruins of the former 17th century Belle Vue Farm which was once an impressive 5 bedroomed detached farmhouse in the middle of a 53.5 acre farmstead in Dalton, Lancashire.
Despite attempts by the owner to gain permission to rebuild the farmhouse and outbuildings, permission has been refused and they still remain designated as abandoned.

More of Avenham and Miller Park and the riverside
Many a happy time spent at the park, especially in summer with rock music played on the bandstand(now gone) There is now a grand tea shop/cafe now in its place
Cartmel Priory
A beautiful old piory in Cartmel, the lake District. Rebuilt over the passage of time the original priory dated back to the 13th century. Note the strange shaped tower which is the only one of its kind in Britain.
Lancaster castle keep where the Pendle witches where held in 1612

Field and cafe Avenham Park Preston
Where once stood the bandstand with its Proud Preston coat of arms consisting of Sacred Lamb holding a banner, now stands a cafe where a history of Miller and Avenham park is on display. Currently developments to both parks are being made.
Wastwater in the lake District
There's something different about this lake compared to the other lakes in Cumbria. It seems remote and almost on a different planet!
