A very interesting and long ride, beware of the load bangs if riding the trains as the bird scarer can be very load watch Rosie and the lady jump at 6.56.
Well worth a visit if your in the area.
Quick Motor Tour of The UK National Fruit Collection at Brogdale Farm, Part 1
When I went to the UK in 2008, I could only afford to go in late Oct/Nov. Many things close for the season at about that time. Knowing I had a long pubtrans trip ahead of me, I made sure I checked the website to see if they were open and it said they were. Either I read the site wrong or they closed up early but when I arrived via tube/train/taxi, the fields were closed. Chief Guide Ted Hobday was kind enough to take me in a car through the field's roads when I wheedled. A thousand thanks to him!
When I returned home, my camera wouldn't read the file. I thought that all the video I'd taken was lost. I kept the SD card in case I ever had better luck. I just found it this year and am uploading it in the hope it'll be of some use to fruit geeks. I apologize for the bad sound. This was not a dedicated video rig with mic, but my digital camera's video function. Every time I shift the camera around, you can hear it. :(

Thousands of fruit varietie on one place. That is the National fruit collection at Brogdale. A good place to visit if you are a fruit enthusiast.

Drumawhey Junction - Belfast and County Down Miniature Railway Society
Drumawhey Junction - Situated approximately 5 miles from Newtownards, Drumawhey Junction is Ireland's longest 7.25 inch railway. The railway is located on the Upper Gransha Road close to the Four Road Ends on the B172 from Newtownards to Millisle. The entrance is via the railway style gates.
The 2019 brochure for this fantastic attraction states :-
Leave the station and ride on trains pulled by steam, electric or diesel locomotives around a scenic and varied track which crosses bridges, dives into tunnels and winds itself around mature grounds as it crosses itself, a level crossing and a stream with surprises around every corner. Watch out for the signal box, engine sheds, embankments and cuttings. It is a great adventure for all ages!
Check out Drumawhey Junction website at drumawhey.com for the 2019 calendar and further information on this fantastic miniature railway.
Out and About Northern Ireland would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members and volunteers of Belfast and County Down Miniature Railway Society for their co-operation and assistance, which without, this video would not have been possible. Many thanks to one and all!
