GoPro Powder Day - Broken River, NZ - August 2015
Filmed on GoPro Hero3 Black on 5th August, 2015 at Broken River Club Ski Field, Canterbury, New Zealand.
Just a fun cruzy day off work with 30cm of new snow, blue bird sky's and only 40 people on the field.
Filmed in 1440p (4:3) but looks as though GoPro Studio has done something to the ratio/crop... I used both the chest mount and head strap.

Snowboarding Broken River NZ
We spent a week around Castle Hill and hit a number of club fields. We had awesome weather with fresh every day we hit the canvas. This video is just a taste of the fun we had at brokenriver.co.nz. Club fields rule! They keep the posers away ;-)

August 2017 turned out to be a epic week of skiing
Without doubt the 22nd August 2017 was the best day of skiing, with most ski fields covered in thick fog last 2 to 3 days everyone was talking about how good that Tuesday would be. I chose Broken River as I've never had the chance to ski there on a nice day with all lifts open.
This season's ranking of ski fields:
1) Broken River - Fresh lines from 8:30am right through to 3:30pm as Allan's Basin didn't open til 2:30pm
2) Mount Olympus - little bit of wind picked up but without doubt the playground of gods lived up to its name
= 3) Cheeseman and Craigieburn Valley - Cheeseman followed on the 23rd August 2017, all runs tracked out but if you explored the mountain a bit with a bit of time still nice snow most spots
similarly Craigieburn and the famous Hamilton face was playing nicely
4) Porter - becoming more commercial field, many groomed runs makes for easy riding and off piste around Bluff was nice at times whilst everyone found Leaper to be the run of the day. I Recommend the other club fields if you are bored of commercial fields
