Mesmerizing Seruni Point & Mount Bromo Tour
Mount Bromo / Gunung Bromo, is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, in East Java, Indonesia.
At 2,329 meters (7,641 ft) it is not the highest peak of the massif, but is the most well known. The massif area is one of the most visited tourist attractions in East Java, Indonesia.
The volcano belongs to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The name of Bromo derived from Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu creator god.
Mount Bromo sits in the middle of a plain called the Sea of Sand (Javanese: Segara Wedi or Indonesian: Lautan Pasir), a protected nature reserve since 1919.
The typical way to visit Mount Bromo is from the nearby mountain village of Cemoro Lawang. From there it is possible to walk to the volcano in about 45 minutes, but it is also possible to take an organised jeep tour, which includes a stop at the viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan (2,770 m or 9,088 ft) (Indonesian: Gunung Penanjakan). The viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan can also be reached on foot in about two hours.
Depending on the degree of volcanic activity, the Indonesian Centre for Volcanology and Disaster Hazard Mitigation sometimes issues warnings against visiting Mount Bromo.
2015 Eruption :
Mount Bromo showed signs of increasing activity beginning in 4th Dec 2015, when the amount of smoke coming out of the crater intensified.
By late November Mount Bromo began to eject ashes into the air.
Indonesian Volcano Monitoring Bureau (PVBMG) issued a warning that forbade people from climbing Mount Bromo.
Later the warning was extended into a 1 km exclusion zone, before eventually extended into wider range which virtually barred visitors from coming down into the caldera floor, which is popularly known as Sandsea.

Maybe the second best volcano in Jawa Indonesia is Bromo. 9 hours by train from Yogyakarta to Probolinggo and then take a bus to the nearest village which called Cemoro Lawang. We stayed there in a Home stay. We woke up at 3 and started to climb at 3:30 but it is better to be there at 3:30 AM than you have enough time to reach the view point. Amazing view of the sunrise and Bromo Crater and Bromo Volcano. It looks better than in the video because the best camera is your eyes. It is still active and the small crater has always smoke and the big one every 30 minutes.
If you can reach Probolingo before 4 PM you can go cheaper to Cemoro Lawang. Don't buy the ticket from the travel agency or sometimes the driver forcing you to buy from him at the entrance of the village. Sometimes the the Vulcan is active it is forbidden to clime 1 km before the crater and than it has no meaning to buy the ticket. You can reach the view point from the right side after the sign in the village for Bromo. So the best view is without a fee. If you are a group of 5 people you can rent a jeep with the driver and he drives you to an higher view point. If you share the fee of the jeep it is cheap.If you go up from the village the right is going to the view point. Just 3 km and free. The left road is going to the national park and ticket sale office. Last year the ticket was just 70.000 Rupiah.This year during the week 220-270.000 and on weekends 320-370.000 Rupiah. If you are finished try to turn before 12 PM to the Probolingo City. Than it is cheaper because can be still other who wants to turn. If not you have to pay more because is going to the city with less people.
From Probolingo you can find every hour a bus to Bali. which is my next destination.
Guys if you saved some money with my explanation when you go down to the village you can see on the ride side an old man who is sitting front of the house. He is calling the foreigners. He is living alone and can not take care of himself. If you are a man and bad smell is not effecting you, you can go to the old man give some food or some money for one meal. Not much because I'm not sure if he can spend that money for himself. If you help people from hearth you have more luck in your life about money. Thanks a lot in advance.

Bali to Mount Bromo - Getting there the cheapest way! | Java | Indonesia Budget Travel | No Flights
All transport costs below from getting to Ubud (Bali) to Mount Bromo (East Java).
From Ubud, Bali we decided to head to Java, one of Indonesia's biggest islands. We wanted to visit the volcano Mount Bromo and Java's highest peak Semeru (located near to town of Probolinggo, and the village Cemoro Lawang), as we'd heard incredible things about the sun rises and the beautiful sea of sand. A lot of people who have a similar itinerary decide to fly from Bali to Mount Bromo - but we avoid flights wherever possible, partly because it's more environmentally friendly and partly because it works out cheaper. We had time, so we did our research and headed to Mount Bromo.
From Ubud we had to get a local taxi driver to take us to Mengwi Bus Station, where lots of long distance coaches start. We chose the company M Trans because they seemed the most professional - their staff didn't hassle us and we felt safe. We paid a little more for their tickets than we'd been offered by others, but the bus was really great and included the ferry crossing, snacks, drinks and even a meal! We couldn't believe how great this bus in Indonesia was!
Once in Probolinggo city, in East Java we spent the night in the nearest open hotel and the next morning headed straight back out to catch a questionable looking Bemo Bus to the village of Cemoro Lawang where our Mount Bromo adventure would begin! Indonesia is incredible!

EN: On the day we flew to Surabaya, in East Java, we went straight from Gili Air to the airport, which was a funny trip because on the same day we used a variety of different transportation ranging from a horse cart to a jetliner, and including boat, minibus, bemo, and taxi. At the airport we found out that the airline had screwed up our reservation and that our tickets had been cancelled, after some stress and a long argument they managed to fix it and we could fly after all. Surabaya is a huge city, Indonesia`s 2nd biggest, so we didn't want to stick around, our plan was to stay overnight and head straight to Gunung Bromo the next day. It was difficult to find accomodation for 1 night in Surabaya, eventually we settled for Ibis hotel which was a bit more expensive than what we wanted to pay, but it was also a good change from the kind of places we got used to stay at. We didn't have a very clear picture of how to get to Bromo, our plan was to take a train to Probolingo in the morning, and from there to find a way to go to Cemoro Lawang, a small town which is the usual base for visiting Bromo, where we planned to stay. Still at Surabaya train station, we managed to sort out transportation to Cemoro Lawang strainght from the Probolingo train station, so everything turned out to be much easier than what we antecipated. The transport at Probolingo conveniently stopped at the travel agent's office, where we ended up buying a jeep tour of Bromo for the next day and a trip by minibus to Ijen Plateau (which we already had decided to visit) and taking us all the way to the Bali ferry. The trip turned out to be slightly more expensive than if we had booked it at Cemoro Lawang, so we advise other travellers not to make this kind of arrangements at Probolingo, lesson learned. After that strategic stop, we continued to Cemoro Lawang, the winding mountain road is very scenic, and goes through many nice villages, and it was interesting to see that the farmers here grow all sorts of things in nearly vertical slopes! Bromo is one of the 3 volcanoes emerging in the middle of the huge Tengger caldera, streching 10km across. It is an active volcano, constantly blowing smoke, standing in a sea of volcanic ash sand (the sand sea), and surrounded by the towering walls of the crater's edge. Cemoro Lawang sits right at the crater rim, overlooking the sand sea and the cones of Bromo, Batok, and Kursi. We arrived at Cemoro Lawang around 3PM, so we still had time to go for a walk along the crater rim, near town, the view was absolutelly amazing, we had never seen anything like that, it felt like we were on some different planet. The next day we had an early start, we woke up at 3AM (it was really cold at 2k above sea level!) in order to get to the observation point at Gunung Penanjakan, by jeep, before sunrise. It was a bit more packed then we expected, there must have been a couple of hundreds people there, so we had to find a spot with a good view, and keep it, because everybody was looking for the same. The most daring were a bunch of geeks from the Jakarta Photo Club, whom were risking their lives right at the edge of the crater and beyond the security fence, in order to get the best pictures, they had maybe half a meter of unstable ground to stand on and set up their tripods. Gunung Penanjakan is the highest point in the crater rim, from here the view is really out of this world, you can see the crater rim, with Cemoro Lawang perched on it, the sand sea (which was covered by a blanket of mist that gradually disapered as the sun rose), Bromo and the other 2 cones, and beyond the crater, Gunung Semeru, which blows a clowd of smoke every 15 or so minutes. We stood there for a few hours, until after sunrise, just enjoying the view, as the light changes the view becomes even more dramatic. (We know we took about one thousand of the same pictures, but we couldn't help it! :-) As the sun was coming up, the light and colours were changing all the time.) Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru adalah taman nasional di Jawa Timur, Indonesia, yang terletak di wilayah administratif Kabupaten Pasuruan, Kabupaten Malang, Kabupaten Lumajang dan Kabupaten Probolinggo. Taman yang bentangan barat-timurnya sekitar 20-30 kilometer dan utara-selatannya sekitar 40 km ini ditetapkan sejak tahun 1982 dengan luas wilayahnya sekitar 50.276,3 ha. Di kawasan ini terdapat kaldera lautan pasir yang luasnya ±6290 ha. Batas kaldera lautan pasir itu berupa dinding terjal, yang ketinggiannya antara 200-700 meter.
