Dangar island australia _ | No car and very local island in Sydney..! |
Hi, everyone.! this is Honan.
Dangar island is one of the most local place in Sydney. it is very small, and only around 300 population lives there.
As the island is not designed for tourist, there is no hotel, bar, or even resort. However, as it is, you can enjoy the real, local place of Sydney.
To come to the Dangar island, you need to come to the Brooklyn and catch a Ferry. to the Brooklyn, all you need to do is catch a train which is heading to Hawkesbury River Station, and once you arrive, you can find Ferry wharf right away as it is located just front of the Station.
Generally, when you use Ferry at the City, you can tap your Opal( Sydney transportation fare card), however, at Brooklyn Ferry, because it is out of 'Opal' service area, you need to bring some cash to pay Ferry ticket. (the cost is only about $8 AUD for adult)
At the Dangar island, you can do picnic, walk, or even swim at the small and secluded beach.
Especially, when you have brunch or lunch with a cup of coffee at the Dangar island cafe which is just next to the Dangar island Ferry Wharf, I would say nothing would be better to finalizing your short trip well with relaxing.
hope the video can give you help to picture how it looks like and hope you enjoy the video.
Thank you :)

DANGAR ISLAND OCTOBER 2014
A return visit to Dangar Island finds a different ferry operating the service while the regular one is being overhauled
A TRIP WITH THE RIVERBOAT POSTMAN ON THE HAWKESBURY RIVER
A short movie of a trip with the Riverboat Postman on the Hawkesbury river in New South Wales. This trip delivers mail to islands & isolated settlements on the Hawkesbury river. The trip starts at Brooklyn which is reachable by road & rail.
Dangar Island - Hawkesbury River
Affectionately known as 'DANGER Island' (maybe thats just between wifey and I...), a weekend away from all that is Sydney, to soak in the natural and the remote. Engorged with local wine and sunlight; our smiling hearts could not be stifled.
Less than an hour from Sydney, Dangar Island is so close it's often too eagerly overlooked. A hidden gem, the secret of the Hawkesbury. With a frequent ferry service as well as water taxis; 10 minutes after stepping off the Brooklyn shores, you can start exploring the Islands gifts almost immediately. With a corner store slash cafe slash post office as well as a licensed bowling club dishing up cold schooners on tap with pubby, pub-type fare - you cannot go half wrong.
Dangar, the gem of the Hawkesbury lies in wait.....but shhh, don't tell anyone.
Its so close, but so far away...

Crossing the Verrazzano Bridge in New York Harbor | The Cruise Ship Experience
A few highlights of the New York Harbor is the Statue of Liberty and the crossing under the Verrazano Bridge.
The harbor is still serviced by several cruise lines, commuter ferries, and tourist excursion boats. Although most ferry service is private, the Staten Island Ferry is operated by the New York City Department of Transportation. Passenger ship facilities are New York Passenger Ship Terminal, the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal at Red Hook, and MOTBY at Bayonne.

Next Stop: Coney Island Brooklyn New York City. To get to Coney Island from Manhattan, we took the F Train at East Broadway towards Brooklyn and it took around 45 minutes to reach the end station which is Coney Island. Ice on Hudson and East Rivers Messes Up Ferry Service
Icy waters caused problems for ferries in the Hudson and East rivers. A day of frigid weather brought a night a miserable conditions on the Hudson River. NY Waterway service experienced delays. Cold, icy and even worse on the East River caused a complete shutdown of the East River Ferry.

H Set at Hawkesbury River, NSW
H16
Sadly no freight train came through today :(. I did see a PN coal train come through while I was on a train going past Hawkesbury River to go film the Blue Mountains Flyer (at Wentworthville because I sadly missed my train to go to Warrimoo), however that was all the way back in April. It was around 13:25 when it went past so I was hoping that it would come through around that time today but alas it didn't happen. But happy November anyway, with H16 gliding through Hawkesbury River station for a service to Central via Strathfield. I haven't taken a video of just an H Set (or OSCAR, acronym for Outer Suburban Car) for quite a while, probably because I was intending for those kind of videos to come through if I was to head down to the South Coast.
Now two things about this video: One, the train is wrong. It is heading to Central but the destination board says Newcastle Intg. And secondly, a fun fact that Hawkesbury River is much rather named after the river that surrounds the station and surrounding settlements. The station itself is located in Brooklyn, the northernmost suburb of Sydney. The area is very peaceful, with many boats and places such as the Hawkesbury River Marina and the Riverboat Postman that can be seen on the ride from the train. The bridge over the station has very interestingly, has windows that can be opened, and take you to a small and somewhat battered wooden wharf, and the other side to Dangar Road to the town's features. Also rather uniquely, there is a ferry service that provides shuttles around Brooklyn, Dangar Island and Little Wobby Beach under the name of Brooklyn Ferry Service, a small private ferry company that provides these charters. Hawkesbury River | Travel Series |
Looking back into one of my favourite travel journey, Hawkesbury River is located in Brooklyn New South Wales roughly 24 km away from Hornsby Station, with astounding view of Riverside, The area around Brooklyn, river is crossed by the major road and rail services that follow the coast north from Sydney. The river finally reaches the ocean at Broken Bay with the beautiful surrounding landscapes.

View from the Staten Island Ferry - New York City
A friend of mine from NYC gave me a great tip before my trip. She said that I could see the Statue of Liberty for free by taking the Staten Island Ferry. A lot of people around the area tried to convince me that I wouldn't be able to see it and should pay instead. I thought it worked out well going the free route and I got a great view of NYC as well.
