Mary's 4th Anniversary Vigil, Circle Fountain in Marshall
Words cannot begin to express the appreciation to our friends and supporters who attended the Noon vigil on March 12, 2008 at the Brooks Memorial Fountain in Marshall on behalf of Mary.
This was the best response we have ever had in 4 years and what also made it special was the presence of professional members of the law enforcement community. Thank you to Steve Harrington for his presentation, and Deacon Bernie Mileski of St. Philip Catholic Church in Battle Creek for the prayers. Cliff, Anita and family were deeply pleased and comforted by your response.
Our sincere thanks to Prosecuting Attorney, John Hallacy, Chief Assistant Prosecutor, Dan Buscher, Sheriff Al Byam, Acting Chief Scott McDonald of the Marshall Police Department, and Lt. Dale Peet and other members of the Michigan State Police. I also invited former chief Mike Olson to attend and he did so.
Thank you so much to you all. It is because of our unified effort today, we know that we soon will bring Mary home.
Again, as we have on all the videos we are providing contact information. Please call the family and/or law enforcement if you can help?
Chris Pratt, Inmate, Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility in Ionia, Michigan.
Sentenced up to 15 years for crimes not related to the Mary Lands case.
March 12, 2009- 9:00 A.M.- Well this is not a good sign and obviously came on a sad day for the family, the 5th anniversary of Mary's disappearance. Chris Pratt was just moved from Level II at Mound Correctional Facility in Detroit to Cooper Street Correctional Facility in Jackson. He was reduced to the minimum standard of MDOC and reclassified as Level I. Next we will hear that because of prisons closing and staff reductions he will soon be released. Because his convictions were related to domestic violence he should not be eligible for parole until February 2012. You have to wonder if that criteria enacted by the Michigan legislature will be thrown out and he is looking at a release in the very near future? Norreen Parker, his most recent victim, better be concerned about these new developments.
March 12, 2009- 5:00 P.M.- Thank you to all the good people who today called MDOC, the police and the media about Christopher Luke Pratt being transferred to Cooper Street CF in Jackson and a reduction of his Level II to Level I. It just shows the power of our community. Inmate Pratt will be shuffling off to another prison and his Level II status will be put back in place. Maybe if we are lucky it will be the UP for the rest of the winter.Thank you again to WOOD-TV8 and the viewers for all the calls. It really gave some relief to Mary's parents to know we all will be safer. Kudos to our community to keep this alleged killer in a more secure location. In my opinion, I believe he killed Mary Lands and so does the law enforcement community. Chris Pratt needs to remain in prison for the rest of his life unless he makes a deal and tells the truth. It better be soon because some other perp is going to drop a dime on him first.
Update- March 13, 2009- 7:45 A.M- Within 24 hours of MDOC learning that Christopher Luke Pratt is an inmate who is a suspect in an open homicide investigation his classification was changed back to a Level II. Cooper Street Correctional Facility in Jackson is a Level I facility so we presume he will be transferred to a Level II correctional facility.
There is a saying that the wheels of justice turn slow, but grind exceedingly fine.
Chris Pratt, you can try to use your sociopathic charm on prison officials, family and friends to believe that all this is going to go away and you will soon be free. In your deluded thinking you feel no remorse or empathy, but that is just another symptom of your mental defects.
People know what you did to Mary Lands and one day you will allocute in a court of law and be held accountable for Marys disappearance and death.
You have seen our billboards and efforts to find Mary. Your earliest possible parole date is February 24, 2012. Let me assure you that we presently have at least 220 individuals who will be writing the Parole Board to ask that you not be released until your scheduled discharge date in 2022. By the time of your review in 2011 we will have at least 1,000 letters sent to Lansing opposing any release.
We are not going away, and we will bring Mary home.

The National September 11 Memorial: ROSS OWEN'S USA VIDEO DIARY 2012
The National September 11 Memorial is a tribute of remembrance and honor to the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center site, near Shanksville, Pa., and at the Pentagon, as well as the six people killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993. The Memorial's twin reflecting pools are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest manmade waterfalls in the North America. The pools sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood. Architect Michael Arad and landscape architect Peter Walker created the Memorial design selected from a global design competition that included more than 5,200 entries from 63 nations. The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into bronze panels edging the Memorial pools, a powerful reminder of the largest loss of life resulting from a foreign attack on American soil and the greatest single loss of rescue personnel in American history.
National September 11 Memorial receives an Honor Award for Regional & Urban Design
The eight-acre memorial plaza is an integral part of the redeveloped World Trade Center complex. Its open, welcoming design is meant to foster the democratic values of public assembly that played such a pivotal role in New York City's collective response to the attacks of September 11, 2001. James Scott Memorial Fountain in 4K
At the western tip of Belle Isle is the James Scott Memorial Fountain. Designed by architect Cass Gilbert, the fountain opened in 1925 and is the jewel of Belle Isle.
The fountain is 510 feet across, and its central fountain could spray water 125 feet into the air. It has 109 water outlets in the shape of dolphins, turtles, lions and human figures. There is also a light show at dusk.
Video was recorded on Saturday September 16 2017 with my Sony FDR AX100. The fountain is set to shut off for the 2017 season on September 18 or 20 (depending on which website you visit), and it looks like not all the fountains were running when I recorded this video.

[Interviews] Woodlands Turning Basin, Texas, USA - Crystal Fountains
Throughout its 43-year history, The Woodlands has led the way among master planned communities that practice environmental preservation. It's home to more than 114,600 people, and over 64,000 people work in the community. The Woodlands is one of the top master planned communities in Texas and the U.S. The Woodlands Development Company has commenced their planning, design and construction for a new turning basin extension project over The Woodlands Waterway™ near Town Green Park in The Woodlands Town Center. The popular recreational, entertainment and retail destination is destination enhanced for public visitors to get involved with all sorts of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking or even spending quality time with your loved ones.
The Woodlands community’s biggest attraction is a 2-mile-long waterway that flows through the heart of the development. The broad Turning Basin is located on one end of the Woodlands Waterway, where several water taxis and other boats cut wide arcs before heading back to the other end. Prior to this astonishing water feature, the backdrop for the basin was quite ordinary and had so much potential to create a 'wow' factor – essentially, it was just a big embankment with a path that moved people from the parking lot to the retail area. The basin has transformed from having no clear access to the water to an exquisite water feature, where people can pause and enjoy the waterway. One of the main challenges our design team had to overcome was to effectively illuminate the cascades and that's where Crystal's Spectra Linear lights so effortlessly fit into the design intent.
It was equally important to make the water feature an attraction not only by day but at night too. “The mission was accomplished with a thoughtful design that captures interest by day and used unique programming to turn these cascades into a compelling, varied water show after dark. The colors of the stone slabs and the texture of the water flowing down across their varied surfaces command tremendous visual interest, along with sounds that are a tuneful white-noise antidote for nearby traffic” said Jeff Chapman, principle at Greenscape Pump Services, Inc.
The Turning Basin water feature is one of many attractions The Woodlands Development Company augmented for the community. Crystal was honored to work with Sasaki Associates, Greenscape Pump Services Inc., and the rest of the excellent team involved to bring The Woodlands Waterway to life.
