There are many instances in history where water has claimed cities. Many towns have been flooded on purpose to create dams to generate electricity, like in Potosi, Venezuela. In those cases, the needs of many outweighed the needs of a few people. The affected citizens are usually relocated to new towns, which are sometimes even specifically built to accommodate them. In other cases, the sheer power of water led places to simply sink. That’s exactly what happened to a hiking trail in Brazil and also to Epecuén, Argentina. It’s incredible that these sunken cities still exist today as glimpses of towns frozen in time. In this video, you’ll see submerged examples that look like they belong in the movies, like the big statues of Thonis or the intricate structures of Lion City. You'll also be shocked to see how these underwater cities still show clear traces of what they once were.

Here is a bit of the Northern Kentucky Fly Fisher's trip to Brookville in January. We landed some Brookville brown trout. The first fish if the new year! Then headed to the Goldfinch for lunch. It was a solid day on the water even with the bitter cold.

This is the 20X time Lapse drive home after the March 2017 Clarion North Country Trail Association Monthly Hike on the Red Bank Valley Trail in Brookville, PA. This is also the first day when I later noticed that all videos with my Go Pro 4 Silver were not recording sound. Now I record videos with sound using my Nikkon S9700 Camera, but You Tube won't let me hear sound on those videos when I edit them.
Virtual Tour of the Quakertown Swamp
Designated as a Wild Plant Sanctuary and an Important Bird Area, the Quakertown Swamp is home to more than 330 plant and animal species. The Quakertown Swamp is one of the largest inland wetlands in the region. It encompasses an area of about 518 acres that spans Richland, East Rockhill, and West Rockhill Townships; Heritage Conservancy owns and preserves 70 acres of the swamp, while the rest of it is either privately owned or belongs to state game lands.
This guided virtual tour provides a front row seat to remote locations in the swamp’s diverse ecosystem and highlights the importance of biodiversity in a significant habitat. By making this tour available to the public, Heritage Conservancy hopes to shed light on the need for stewardship of this asset to our community.
This project was funded in part by a grant from the Community Partnerships Program, under the administration of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation in support of the Schuylkill Highlands Mini-Grant Program administered by Natural Lands Trust and the Schuylkill River Heritage Association.
