Let's take a ride around the small town of Nashville, Indiana. This town is in the top towns a few years ago in the USA to see for Christmas.
Nashville, IN boasts a tourist industry based upon the original works of resident artists and the area's natural beauty. Brown County State Park is nearby. It is a must see too. Art, antique, and specialty shops, as well as galleries, restaurants, and entertainment venues, make up downtown Nashville, and many inns, rented cottages, and bed and breakfast establishments serve visitors. The town is best known as the center of the Brown County Art Colony and as a tourist destination.

Some more shops available in Nashville, Indiana narrated by Kels. The Life is Good store is a favorite of ours. There are many hats, shirts, bags and so much more.
There is always wonderful food in Nashville, Indiana, and the Artist's Colony is certainly one of those. We recommend the catfish sandwich for lunch. There is a wonderful early 1900's atmosphere in both the restaurant and the rooms available in the inn.
Although we did not tour the Brown County Winery on video, the wine is a must try in Nashville. There are several wineries available, and all have many varieties of wine from which to choose.
We also visited the Backporch, which is a favorite for not only outdoor décor such as rocking chairs and birdhouses but also indoor items like quaint signs and salt rock lamps.

Spent the evening in Nashville Indiana at the Brown County Inn! We purchased the Sweetheart Package and it included the room with king size bed, dinner for the two of us, breakfast for the two of us, and complimentary Brut Champagne with fruit and chocolate truffles.

Fall Break 2016
Today we are taking you on vacation with us to Southern Indiana as we experience our fall break. First we went to Brown County, Indiana. We stayed at the Abe Martin Lodge in Brown County State Park. It's the one part in Indiana that is actually a bit hilly! We went horseback riding and we walked through the beautiful trails. Then we went to Indianapolis and stayed at the Hilton hotel. We were so excited to be able to go to the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions! We saw Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Laurie Hernandez, Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, and many others. We also went shopping at Circle Center Mall, ate some delicious food, and we saw the torch that was celebrating Indiana's bicentennial pass right through the capitol building.

Each year in December groups of people across the western hemisphere take part in an annual Christmas Bird Count to take a census of birds in their wintering habitats. This year's CBC at Brown County State Park yielded 43 different species across more than 600 individual birds including two Bald Eagles.
