Our first day exploring Bucharest and we head to the old town - the city center of the Romania capital - to get a feel for what it's like to travel here. The old town is understandably touristy, as any city center like that is, but was an awesome place to walk around and vlog.
Bucuresti, as it's known to locals, has a really unique feel to it that we're struggling to put our finger on. This is our first time in Romania and there's still so much more we need to see, vlog and travel of the country. Be sure to subscribe to see more of our Bucharest vlogs!

HOW EXPENSIVE IS BUCHAREST, ROMANIA? A DAY OF BUDGET TRAVEL ????????

Bucharest - Visiting Romania For The First Time
It’s our first trip to Bucharest, Romania and we ask should you take a city break in the Romanian capital.
Read more about our trip:
We take a Bucharest city tour and try some of the local food, #experiencebucharest
As well as touring the city and visiting Nicolae Ceausescu’s Palace, old town Bucharest and Bucharest’s very own Arcul de Triumf we visit the infamous neighbourhood of Pantelimon. With its rows and rows of 1970’s communist housing block, it did have a very poor reputation and was the home to Romanian rap band B.U.G. Mafia. Things have changed in recent years and the parks and public area have been cleaned up.
Romanians love garlic and we try a traditional lunch with garlic as we are told bloodthirsty stories of Vlad the Impaler, the original Dracula.
As well as the palace there is no escaping the influence of Nicolae Ceausescu on Bucharest and Romania. He ordered destruction of many of the old buildings in order to build a Romanian communist utopia.
Finally in 1989 there was a revolution and unlike the rest of Europe this was not a peaceful one.
Things have changed since 1989, Romania joined the EU in 2007 and in 2019 Romania will be the president of the EU council, so all eyes will be on Romania and Bucharest.
So, we ask should you make Bucharest the destination for your next city break in Europe and the answer is definitely, yes. #Bucharest #Romania

Bucharest, the capital of Romania, is a hidden gem in Eastern Europe.
Regardless of how much you know about Eastern Europe, you must visit Bucharest of Romania at least once in your life.
It is full of history and unique buildings that carry a lot of history with themselves.
The main roads of Bucharest are very broad. Cars move very fast in the center of the city.
The Old Town is full of historical buildings, which are amazingly beautiful. It will take you a lot of time for you to see every old building in the Old Town.
I recommend that you should spend at least one whole day to see everything in detail.
The Old Town is also full of excellent F&B outlets, ranging from traditional Romanian cuisine to modern Italian eateries.

Bucharest, Romania: Winds of Change
More info about travel to Romania: Nicolae Ceaușescu took power in Romania in 1965, and through his 24-year dictatorship his ego ballooned. The culmination of his master plan was an immense palace with more than a thousand rooms, now the Palace of the Parliament. In late 1989, with winds of change sweeping the Eastern Bloc, armed revolution spread across Romania.

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA - Bucharest is the largest city in Romania, a vibrant capital, full of old and new, and an abundance of markets, and everything from street food to high end restaurants. In this ultimate Romanian food tour of Bucharest, we ate a variety of amazing food, and I’m going to share it all with you in this video! #Romania #RomanianFood #Bucharest
Huge thank you to Nassim ( and Cristian ( for setting up this incredible trip.
Obor Market - To start off this day of eating, we headed to the biggest fruit and vegetable market in Bucharest, Obor Market. After walking around the amazing fruit selection, and vegetables, we had a quick cup of freshly squeezed grape juice.
Terasa Obor Mici - Located at the market is one of the best Romanians street food stalls in the city, Terasa Obor Mici. There’s nothing like a few mici in the morning with some beer. The owner here is also incredibly friendly, and they serve probably the best mici in Romania.
Argentine Steak & Sushi - Next up on this food tour of Bucharest, we had a lunch cooked by Chef Catalin Petrescu ( who uses Romanian ingredients to make Japanese food - and it’s amazing food. Cristian also supplies microgreens for this restaurant ( It was an outstanding meal.
Parliament of Romania - The most important and iconic landmark in Bucharest is the Parliament of Romania, the second largest administrative building in the world. We took a quick tour of some of the most decorated and beautiful rooms.
Origo Coffee Shop If you love good coffee, when you’re in Bucharest, Romania, this is the place to go.
Dristor Kebap - This chain of Romanian style shawarma is a must try when you’re in Bucharest. I loved the unique selection of vegetables, and especially the stir mix of all the ingredients, which I haven’t seen in other countries.
Caru' cu bere - Finally, to complete this incredible day of Romanian food in Bucharest, we went to Caru' cu bere, a historical Romanian restaurant, full of cultures, and meaty Romanian food. Every night is a party at Caru' cu bere!

Top Attractions in Bucharest, Romania: 2017 Edition
If this is your first time visiting Bucharest, then the first thing you should know is that taxi scams are very wide in the city, and especially at the airport. Once you manage to arrive safely to the city the one attraction you should not miss is the building of parliament. this is one of the largest buildings in the entire world, and a reminder to the era of the communist leader Nicola Ceausesco. you can take a guided tour of an hour in the building and you will see only a fraction of it, as the building has more than 1000 rooms.
Next, if you are a Dracula fan, then you will be happy to hear that the real life blood thirsty prince Vlad Tepes, who was the inspiration to the famous vampire rose to power in this city during the 15th century. You can take a short trip outside of the city to a monestary on lake Snagov to his supposed grave, assuming you believe he ever died... or you can take a longer trip and explore the Castles of Transylvania including Bran Castle, a 13th-century hilltop fortress known as Dracula's Castle, and Peles Castle, a masterpiece of Neo-Renaissance architecture.
