CITYRAMA Budapest - Szentendre Artists' Village
Tour description, images and online booking:
Let us show you Szentendre, the picturesque Artist's Village, built on medieval ruins. The small baroque village with Mediterranean atmosphere lies in a beautiful natural setting at the gate of the Danube Bend, just half an hour drive from Budapest.
First we walk around the historical centre of Szentendre and show you colourful houses and hidden alleyways. Due to the Serbian, Dalmatian and Greek settlers of the village the old city centre is a very special mixture of the Hungarian and Mediterranean architecture.
Next we walk up the cobblestoned narrow streets to the panorama terrace to enjoy the special atmosphere of the village. Then we invite you for a Lángos (fried Hungarian flat bread).
After the guided tour we offer you free time for shopping or you can visit any of the famous museums like the Margit Kovács Ceramic Museum or the Confectionery Museum with marzipan figures.
From May to September we return to Budapest by boat. The tour ends at the pier in the city centre.

With only a short amount of time in Hungary we knew Budapest had to be the place to visit, travel and vlog. Today was exploring the Buda side of the city starting with Chain Bridge, then up to Buda Castle and further around to Fishermans Bastion.
The Chain Bridge has so many interesting stories about it's build, but we love the story of the Hungarian stunt pilot flying underneath, year before we visited in 2018.
Walking over the Chain Bridge we arrived at the base of the Buda Castle, aka Budapest Castle. There was a festival on so we couldnt get full access to the Castle grounds sadly, but the view back over the city of Budapest and the Chain Bridge made it worth it.
Further around to Fishermans Bastion we discovered the most epic little church, more views of Budapest and hundreds of people. Definitely walk the back streets of Fishermans Bastion and get lost in the little lane ways.

Budapest (pronounced /ˈbuːdəpɛst/, also /ˈbʊdəpɛst/, /ˈbjuːdəpɛst/ or /ˈbuːdəpɛʃt/; Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈbudɒpɛʃt] ( listen); names in other languages) is the capital of Hungary.[1] As the largest city of Hungary, it serves as the country's principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial, and transportation center[2] and is considered an important hub in Central Europe.[3] In 2009, Budapest had 1,712,210 inhabitants,[4] down from a mid-1980s peak of 2.1 million. The Budapest Commuter Area is home to 3,271,110 people.[5][6] The city covers an area of 525 square kilometres (202.7 sq mi)[7] within the city limits. Budapest became a single city occupying both banks of the river Danube with a unification on 17 November 1873 of right (west)-bank Buda and Óbuda with left (east)-bank Pest.[7][8]
Aquincum, originally a Celtic settlement,[9] was the direct ancestor of Budapest,[10] becoming the Roman capital of Lower Pannonia.[9] Magyars arrived in the territory[11] in the 9th century. Their first settlement was pillaged by the Mongols in 1241-42.[12] The re-established town became one of the centers of Renaissance humanist culture[13] in the 15th century.[14] Following the Battle of Mohács and nearly 150 years of Ottoman rule,[15] development of the region entered a new age of prosperity in the 18th and 19th centuries, and Budapest became a global city after the 1873 unification.[16] It also became the second capital of Austria-Hungary, a great power that dissolved in 1918. Budapest was the focal point of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848[note 1], the Hungarian Soviet Republic of 1919, Operation Panzerfaust in 1944, the Battle of Budapest of 1945, and the Revolution of 1956.
Regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe,[1][11][17][18] its extensive World Heritage Site includes the banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter, Andrássy Avenue, Heroes' Square and the Millennium Underground Railway, the second oldest in the world.[17][19] Other highlights include a total of 80 geothermal springs,[20] the world's largest thermal water cave system,[21] second largest synagogue, and third largest Parliament building. The collections of the Natural History Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts are also significant.
The city ranked 3rd (out of 65 cities) on Mastercard's Emerging Markets Index (2008),[22] and ranked as the most livable Central/Eastern European city on EIU's quality of life index (2009).[23] It attracts over 20 million visitors a year.[24] The headquarters of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT)[25] and the first foreign office of the CIPA will be in Budapest.[26]

10 Best Places to Visit in Hungary.
While Hungary is famous for its goulash and paprika (which, by the way, originated in the New World), it’s known for much more than that, including world-class fine wines and its pear liqueur, an orange-colored sweet dessert treat, sometimes known as palinka.
Visitors to Hungary quickly learn it is a land of many cultures, having been ruled over by the Romans, Ottomans, Mongols, Magyars, Czechs and the Soviets. Remains of Roman fortifications can be found as can utterly spectacular buildings dating back to the Middle Ages. Hungary also is the land of the beautiful blue Danube River; no trip here would be complete without a boat ride on it. An overview of the best places to visit in Hungary:
10. Gyor
9. Hortobagy National Park
8. Debrecen
7. Heviz
6. Aggtelek National Park
5. Pecs
4. Sopron
3. Eger
2. Lake Balaton

5 days in Budapest - Tips in description box
Hi guys,
Here's a laid back coverage of our trip to Budapest.
I recorded this so I can keep a good memory :)
So sorry if it's not up to 'videographer's standards'!
Some useful tips:
1. We stayed in District VII and the area is close to city centres, sight seeing.
2. For a cheaper stay, we rented an AirBnb.
3. We used the Airport shuttle called minibud which was amazing as they drop you off and pick up from where you're staying at . For a return ticket, we have only paid €35 for 2 persons which was amazing!
Company name: minibud.hu/en
3. Since we were staying for the whole 5 days, we bought the 1 week travel pass (Valid on Metro and buses).
We have paid €15 per person (bargain!)
Public transportation in Budapest are quite reliable.
Here are the places we went to:
(I didn't record the Ruin Pubs in Budapest)
1. Chain Bridge- Citadel
2. Jewish quarter to Ruin Pubs
3. St. Stephen's Basilica
4. Vajahunyad Castle close to the Szechenyi Thermal Baths in Varosliget Park
