Teralj National Park in Mongolia
The view from a Buddhist temple in the mountains of the Teralj National Park near Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Mongolia: UlaanBaatar - Zaisan Memorial
The Zaisan Memorial is a monument honouring Soviet Russian soldiers killed during The Great Patriotic War. The monument features a circular memorial painting depicting the friendship between the USSR and Mongolia; Soviet support for Mongolia's independence declaration in 1921: the defeat of the Japanese Kwantung Army by the Soviets at Khalhkin Gol on the Mongolian border in 1939; the defeat of Nazi Germany & post-war Soviet space flights. At the base of the hill there is a Soviet tank from a brigade paid for by the Mongolian people. The plinth shows the route of the brigade from Moscow when it started out in 1943 to the fall of Berlin in 1945.
This is a popular place with tourists as there are extensive view over the city below..........

Setup:
Our first night spent in a ger was officially in the books! That morning the camp was full of activity as the family was preparing for their son’s wedding. A Mongolian country-side wedding can last anywhere from 3-10 days with the grooms parent’s building the couple a new ger and the bride’s parents providing the furniture. It was so interesting to see all this unfold and as much fun as it would been to attend a 10 day long Mongolian party, we had to hit the road
Buddhist Monastery:
While en route to meet up with our new guide, we made a quick stop off at a buddhist monastery out in the middle of nowhere. we wandered around the place checking out various religious artifacts, including a large stockpile of hundred year old Tibetan sutras until we were befriended by a young monk who was more than eager to tell us more about his faith
Buddhism has been around in Mongolia since the 16th century when the Mongolian ruler Altan Kahn was converted by Tibetan lamas. Today, many religions are practiced throughout the country, but over half the population still identifies themselves as Buddhists. At it’s core, buddhism is the understanding that suffering and dissatisfaction originate in the way your mind responds to life’s circumstances. Buddhism provides it’s followers with a set of systematic techniques to have self-control over your own negative thoughts and desires. Happiness, Buddha once said, is actually quite simple: The secret is to want what you have and not want what you don't have. A good reminder, no matter what you do… or don’t believe
After Lunch:
After lunch, we took off into the gobi desert bound for our big destination of the day, a place called white stupa. Admittedly, we had know idea what that was or what to expect, but we were making great time… until we discovered that the Mongolian wilderness hates it when you’re making great time.
WHITE STUPA / Tsagaan Suvarga
White stupa is a massive 400 meter long cliff that was formed around 10 million years ago when it was covered by a sea. Over the millennia the sea dried up and the erosion eventually created distinctive looking structures known as escarpments. The erosion also exposed the different ores in the soil that when met with oxygen create the brilliant colors of white, yellow and purple. The top of the 40 meter high cliff is mostly covered with loose rocks so it made walking around near the edge a little freaky. Ancient hunters used this fact to their advantage by driving herds of gazelles over the edge for a sure kill. We could’ve easily spent all day there walking around in awe, but the sun was beginning to set and we still had to make it to our camp for the night. We were excited to meet a new nomadic family and experience the infamous Mongolian hospitality.

Terelj from the sky #1: ARYABAL MEDITATION TEMPLE
We aim to deliver the historical sites and travel destinations around Terelj National Park as series.
Aryabal Buddhist Meditation Center, Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, Tov, Mongolia, Asia
Gorkhi-Terelj National Park is one of the national parks of Mongolia. The Terelj tourist zone has a number of tourist camps. It is connected with Ulan Bator by a paved road. The road comes to the Gorkhiin Davaa pass. Most of the tourist camps and tourist attractions are before this pass. The road then ends in Terelj settlement, which features small shops and restaurants. Terelj settlement is located in the Terelj gol river dale, approximately 66 km from Ulaanbaatar city center. The national park tourist zone is formally Nalaikh düüreg (district) part of Ulaanbaatar, the rest (protected) zone begins to the North from Terelj Gol river and is located in Mongolia's Töv aimag. A small southern portion of the park is developed for tourists, with restaurants, souvenir shops, horses and camels for rent, and tourist ger camps, many of them run by Juulchin, the former state tourism company. However, most of the park is undeveloped and difficult to access. Attractions include Khagiin Khar Lake, a 20m deep glacial lake 80 km upstream from the tourist camps, and Yestii Hot Water Springs, natural hot springs 18 km further upstream. The park also has a Buddhist monastery that is open to visitors. Park wildlife includes brown bears and over 250 species of birds. The Tuul River flows through the park. The park has many rock formations for rock climbers, and includes two famous formations named for things they resemble: Turtle Rock and the Old Man Reading a Book (Praying Lama Rock). Many Westerners were introduced to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park when the CBS reality television program The Amazing Race visited the park in the second episode of its tenth season.

After a long time, I arrived at Mt. Through dense forest roads like a folding screen, we set foot in Huanghong Temple. However, only the huge cliff was visible, and the temple was not seen. You can see the red thing over there. There is a temple Heungheung Temple on the top of a huge rocky mountain. Mongolian Buddhist monk, who was the leader of Mongolian Buddhism, abandoned the secular and urban areas and stayed here. It has become a scenic spot that has kept Mongol Buddhism under all its oppression for 500 years secretly by its disciples.
