BUDDHA TOOTH RELIC TEMPLE & MUSEUM. SINGAPORE. TRAVEL, CULTURE, ADVENTURE, FESTIVALS
BUDDHISM is more than a religion, it is a way of using the mind. Buddhists don't just have different beliefs from others, they gradually learn to use their minds differently and with the transformation of the mind everything else changes.

How good is Chinatown Singapore!! The highlight is the amazing Buddha Tooth Relic Temple but there is so much more to see and do in Chinatown. The Maxwell food center has an incredible range of food, including the Michelin star Hainanese chicken rice.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum
Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum is a Buddhist Temple located in Chinatown in Singapore. The temple is based on Tang Dynasty Architectural style and built to house the Tooth Relic of Historical Buddha. The Buddha Tooth Relic is housed in a giant stupa weighing a whopping 3,500 kilograms and made from 320 kilograms of gold, of which 234 kilograms were donated by devotees. Only monks are allowed into the relic chamber, but visitors will be able to see the tooth relic from the public viewing area.
Built in 2007, the Buddha Relic Temple gets its name from what the Buddhists regard as the left canine tooth of Buddha, which has been recovered from his funeral pyre in Kushinagar, Uttarpradesh in India.
It is also claimed that the Relic of the Buddha from which it gains its name was found in 1980 in a collapsed stupa in Myanmar.
The Buddhist Culture Museum on the third floor holds an array of revered artefacts of the Buddha, such as bone and tongue relics, and the Sacred Light Hall on the fourth floor contains the temple’s center piece.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple Singapore (4K)
Buddha Tooth Relic Temple Singapore was one of the places we visited in the city before our 14 night Asia cruise in 2018. This was a very religious place and houses a Buddah tooth on the upper levels (where photos and videos were not allowed). There were many Buddhists chanting, plus numerous statues and artifacts. You can join in the Buddhist prayers as well.
Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum Singapore Chinatown
Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum Singapore Chinatown was by far the best experience we had in Singapore.
We raised our children as Practicing Mahayana Buddhist, and we have missed our Temple back in America... so, this was very nostalgic for us and made us feel like we are at home.
