Muara tebas Buddhist temple is one of the oldest Buddhist temple in Kuching, it is very popular and for our local Buddhist here in Kuching, it is a must go place on CNY, to pray for the better year ahead. Besides one 1st and 15th day of lunar calendar month, there will be lots of people as well, plus free vegetarian noodles to serve the public on CNY period and 1st and 15th of every lunar calendar month

ChingSan Yan, Kuching | 古晉 青山岩
Ching San Yen is a Buddhist temple located about 30 KM from Kuching City. ‘Ching San’ means ‘Green Mountain’ in Chinese. It is situated on a 2.5-acre site on a hill, 120 ft above sea level.
Every Chinese New Year, the throng of Buddhist devotees descending upon this little Malay fishing village to make their passage of way to this temple on top on a hill. One has to climb 142 steps to reach the top and to pray for good fortune, peace, health and prosperity during the year ahead.
This is a must visit place for Kuchingnites every Chinese New Year, even for those who are not Buddhists. You can easily spot people from different races, different background visit here, for the beautiful scenery, or for the noodles, or to appreciate the decorations of the temple that holds the record in the The Sarawak Book of Amazing Facts & Records published by the Ministry of Tourism of Sarawak in 2001.

New Hindu temple ‘Masterpiece in Borneo’ a new landmark, tourist attraction
The new Hindu temple located at Jalan Rock here is expected to become a significant landmark and tourist attraction in the state capital, upon completion in August 2021.
Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Association Kuching president Shankar Ram believed that the new temple, dubbed as the Hindu Masterpiece in Borneo, will be the tallest in Borneo and pride of the Hindu community.
“Now, we can come out with a very beautiful temple that will become a pride for all of us in Borneo.
“There are a lot of Indians who came here, from Indonesia, India, Australia and the United States. If we have a good temple, you will see a lot of people coming here and it is also a tourist site.
“And we are given blessings to look after the holy rocks nearby this temple.We have been maintaining the rocks and we will clean it up and do something that is special as tourism is strong and there is heritage for it,” he said at the earth breaking of the Hindu Masterpiece in Borneo project here today. ' Match ' makes things happen ! The cave Buddha statue was found floating on a sitting position along the Lundu River estuary, believed from distant far of thousand miles by a group of Iban boys and handed to a devotee.
The Budda statue was eventually throned in this unique ' Poh Lin Shan ' cave in Bau on 3/5/2012 for public worships for peace, harmony, health and prosperity.
Is this the first natural Buddha cave temple in Kuching ?...... try to feel the atmosphere in and around the cave by yourselves.

Chin Swee Caves Temple | Genting Highland | Malaysia
The Chin Swee Caves Temple is a Taoist temple in Genting Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. The Chin Swee Caves Temple is situated in the most scenic site of Genting Highlands. Within the Temple is seated a statue of Qingshui, a Buddhist monk who has long been referred to as a deity in Fujian province, China for his supernatural abilities to summon rain and drive away evil spirits. The Temple attracts many local and foreign devotees from Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Kenya, and China. The Chin Swee Caves Temple is situated on a 28-acre plot of rocky forested land donated by Genting Group founder the late Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lim Goh Tong. Located 4,600 feet above sea level, the Temple is about 5–10 minutes’ drive down from the peak of the mountain.

The Temple:
The Temple’s first stage of development, costing an estimated RM12 million, is made up of an imposing traditional structure. It has tall red columns supporting an ornamental roof. The exterior wall carries many inscriptions that depict the life of the Reverend Chin Swee and his major charitable and supernatural works. Within the Temple, the statue of the Reverend Chin Swee placed in accordance with Feng Shui principles is seated at the northern part of the main hall with his face looking south. Behind the statue is a natural rock in a man-made flowing stream. The rock gives the necessary support to the statue while the stream provides clear cool mineral water throughout the year. This water has been named ‘Dragon Mineral Water’. At the temple in Penglai Village the water was said to have healed the sick. The Reverend Chin Swee’s birthday falls on the 6th day of Lunar New Year and is celebrated for ten days beginning from the first day of the Lunar New Year. Going forward and with the completion of these latest additions, the Chin Swee Caves Temple committee is planning for more events and celebrations aimed at depicting not only the good deeds of the Reverend Chin Swee but also the richness of the Malaysian Chinese culture.
