A BREATHTAKING EVE AT BUKKUR ISLAND, SUKKUR (PAKISTAN)
Bukkur is mostly famous from its ancient fort called Bukkur fort. This historic fort of Bukkur is located at midstream in the Indus as it flows between the road Rohri town and modern Sukkur city. The fort of Bukkur is built by rocky (Limestone) island on the Indus, it is about eight hundred yards long and three hundred broad and situated at the Island between the Sukkur and Rohri. The walls of the fort is close to and slope to the water's edge at the enterance.There are gateways on the each side of the fort. In small space of the northern side date trees were planted. Inside the fort numerous houses and mosques were built.The Island of Bukkurn acheived prominence early in its history. In 1327 the Dehli King Muhammad Tughlaq sent only trustworthy Governors to command the Bukkur. The fortification were rebuilt by Shah Beg Argun using the material from Alor five miles away.
Nowadays it is in the administration of the Sukkur Divsion and best place for visiting, from this you can watch the coastal line of the Sukkur city also view Bridging phenamenon.
There is another island south of the Bukkur called Sadh Bello which also possesses a shrine considered sacred to every thing Sindhian. The famous fish of the river particularly the Palla retains the importance and delicious food of the region. Try to chance with it.

Sukkur (Sindhi: سکر; Urdu: سکھر) is a city in the Pakistani province of Sindh along the western bank of the Indus River. Sukkur is the third largest city in Sindh after Karachi and Hyderabad, and is 12th most populous city in Pakistan. New Sukkur was established during the British era alongside the village of Sukkur. Sukkur's hill, along with the hill on the river island of Bukkur, form what is sometimes considered the Gate of Sindh,] in reference to the city's location along the frontier that separates the historical Sindhi heartland from the Seraiki-speaking regions to the north.
The name Sukkur may derive from the word Sukh, derived from a Sanskrit word for comfort. This may be an allusion to the relative prosperity of the region at the time. Others have suggested the name may be derived from the Arabic word for sugar, shakkar, in reference to the sugarcane fields that have historically been abundant in the region.
The region around Sukkur has been inhabited for millenia. The ruins of Lakhueen-jo-daro, located near an industrial park on the outskirts of Sukkur, dates from the Mature Harappan period of the Indus Valley Civilisation, between 2600 BCE and 1900 BCE.
Old Sukkur was initially a small village prior to the establishment of a military garrison in 1839. Sukkur was built on a low limestone ridge on the banks of the Indus River. The city was once surrounded by groves of date palms that were traditionally believed to have grown from the discarded date-pits from Arab invaders in the 8th century.
The village of Sukkur was directly across from the larger town of Rohri, which served as a busy port along the Indus by the 1200s, and was a major trading centre for agricultural produce. An 86 foot tall minaret was built at Sukkur's shrine of Mir Masum Shah in 1607.

The Fort Of Mathelo (Mathelo Moomal-Ji-Mari) Distt: Ghotki, Sindh, Pakistan.
The Fort Of Mathelo (Mathelo Moomal-Ji-Mari) 11 KM in the east of Ghotki city. It was founded by Mir Masoo khan talpur in 1739 A.D. The total area of the Mathelo town is 29 Acrs, but now the village Mathelo is only famous for the ruins of Moomal-Ji-Marri which is now present in the shape of mound. The fort is built in the west of Mathelo town. The ruins are spread over half square km and its height is 40 to 50 feet from the surroundings.

Adam Shah Ji Takri (The Hill of Adam Shah) Sukkur is well known for the tomb of Mian Adam Shah Kalhoro. The tomb was built by Mian Ghulam Shah Kalhoro, the ruler of Sindh in 1768 AD.
